A lot of the Kippax stayed behind singing "we're not going no where", as we felt conned we had lost our entrance money. They reduced admission for the rearranged game for the Kippax.

I remember that match, i was one of the ones stayed on the kippax - i'm sure even brian horton came over to convince us all to leave (though my old age memory may be tricking me there!)
18 years ago last week I got a trip inside the Maine Road dressing room prior to the match as a free and wonderful birthday present (Forest i think it was) and met the team - I remember thinking that meeting Vonky was well cool at the time! Though Mike Sheron was the only one who made conversation. And Steve McMahon legged it into the out of bounds sauna/baths area as soon as he saw us teenage guests coming in ;)
Even those few games he played up front he was still a bit of a cult hero don't you think?

Took my eldest, she was around 2 years old..... pissing it down so rather than park in the usual side street, paid to park on the Kippax car park and arrived bang on kick off and just the short distance from the car park into the Kippax we were drenched.... just about dried out and the game was abandoned and we had to make our way in the rain back to the car ha ha.
It was hilarious when he scored, the ball stopping in a puddle just for him to smash it home!
