Wake up

Re: WAKE UP.

I'm not expecting him to win it on his 1st/2nd shot, but we should be able to at least make it out of the group stage.

Re: WAKE UP.

WHAT?

Dya mean we are not ENTITLED to simply show up and be world beaters? Do we have to BUILD a team around solid tactics and BLEND a tam from some of the world's best individual players we have recruited from ALL OVER THE WORLD?

Crazy talk!

I can only speak for myself, but the last few years have been the BEST I HAVE SEEN CITY EVER PLAY....and yes, I am old enough to have watched Bell, Lee and Summerbee back in the day when we won ........ONE second tier European Cup!

We need to get over ourselves and realize that winning ANYTHING is HARD! Just look at how many teams have actually won the premier League and you will see how hard it is, how hard it is to repeat, and how hard it is to maintain a top level club at the top of their game over time.

Ajax game is over. Next up, Swansea and the Prem. One foot in front of the other.

Oh, and I think it is time to realize that neither Mancini nor ANY other manager is predisposed to win ANYTHING!

Re: WAKE UP.

To the OP. sorry but you don't have a leg to stand on here. If our performances were getting better and a long term approach to the CL was evident, I could understand. But the fact remains, it looks like a team with literally no system in the CL and we have gone backwards since last year.<br /><br />-- Thu Oct 25, 2012 10:24 am --<br /><br />

One result. How many points do people expect from 2 away games and home to a great Dortmund team? Give it time... Look how Dortmund did last year.

Dortmund have also ensured they improved on last year... we have not.

Because our group is stronger than last year. Last season Dortmund went backwards in Europe so what? Look at trends not blips.

Our group is "arguably" stronger mate, it doesn't change the fact that out performances have gotten worse. I don't care who you are playing, there has to be signs of improvement, otherwise whats the point?

Prior to that season they were playing in the Europa League, Klopp had another shot he came and played his card right Mancini has n't learnt, Klopp has dynamic energetic and technical players on the wing like Reus ,Goetze and Błaszczykowski, we either have either have energy in Milner but not enough pace or technique or Nasri or an suited striker like Balotelli.

Holland got to the World Cup final under Bert van Marwijk and he had 100% record in qualifying for 2 tournaments, he only lost 8 games in charge,he drew 10, and won 34; he had a 65.38% win rate but his team went backwards in the Euros. In the end it did'nt matter what his achievements were before because, there was no way back from that mess for him; If he did n't resign he would have been sacked, BVM's Oranje lacked passion, togetherness, system, strategy, shape and everything else you need for a football team. If Mancini gets near to this he has to go, no excuses, no looking back at past achievements; just thanks for the good times, good bye and good luck, anything else would be foolish and only damage the club further.

simple fact is the champions league is a step up, and we're not as good as we think we are.
our success so far has come in a closed environment which is vastly overrated, so yes we should focus on the premier league where we can actually compete

English teams have been in 7 of the past 8 CL finals, so we are clearly good enough mate.

You are looking at too small a data set. The point is that we are getting better over the long term. People are reacting to a bad performance v Ajax. If we had won everyone would be happy yet there would be no significant difference in our overall standard. We could have lost to United at home or beat Real Madrid away...knee jerk reactions. The trend is up. Liverpool need to panic.
