Wales 0 - 3 Rashford (apparently)

Sky "Rashford MOTM by some distance"

He was good, against a totally abject Wales team no more than that. I said to my lad, has Pickford touched the ball yet, that was well into the second half!

Interesting that Maguire hasn't been mentioned today who tried his best to throw the game even against oppo that couldn't muster a pass between them. He was embarrassing and will not get away with that against a decent attacking side. (note USA gane).

Thought Foden was excellent trying to make things happen, not giving the ball away no matter where it was played, should've scored the first goal really but St Selfish chose not to pass to him.

:-)
Ive kinda backed maguire for england. Given its a level down from the prem he looks more comfortable.
But last night he was terrible, trying to block shots that he shouldnt be trying to block, nearly deflecting 2 in.
That when he broke down the left then just twatted off was brilliant though. Laughed my head off

Saying that, not sure who id put in out the other options in the squad

So, besides Foden, Grealish, Phillips, Stones and Walker, which English players at City didn’t Southgate include?
I’m not saying that if England had a nucleus of 8-9 at City who would be in the England squad how many in the team are serial winners hell can’t even include grealish or Phillips only stones foden and Walker with sterling ( now Chelsea)even the few from the red scousers aren’t serial winners all about the building of a winning mentality..

I was pleased and very satisfied with the win last night. England were always in control but, if I were Welsh, I'd have been very disappointed that Wales never showed any of that dragon spirit and never breathed any fire. England were always comfortable. Kane does come too deep though he did slip a lovely ball through for ... I just forget who, to miss. It's different at Spurs when playing with Son. Much that has been said of MBE in th press and on TV is nonsense and I was sad to hear Guy Mowbray following the BBC/media line about rags. Johnie Stones showed that he is not only England's best ball-playing central defender but that he is the calmest head. We all new Phil would play well but I feel he is not used to best advantage out wide - we need him more centrally. The question now is which England takes the field on Sunday?
