Was this our strongest team?

No ones questioned the defence then, Kolo for Lescott maybe?

Lescott was probably man of the match last night ? he had the world famous hulk in his back pocket all game

Strongest home team for must-win 3 points bread + butter PL game:
-------Hart-------
Richards---VK--Lescott---Clichy/AK
-----Yaya----Barry---
Silva----Aguero----Nasri
---------Balo-------

(AJ to come on as impact sub for last 25 mins...)

Strongest away team for Porto type ("not lose") game:
-------Hart--------
Richards---VK--Lescott---Clichy
-----De Jong---Barry
Milner----Yaya----Silva
-------Aguero-----

(Zabaleta / Dzeko to come on as required for last 25-30 mins)

Very true last night, but overall I'd prefer Kolo. Lescott loses concentration way to easy & gets caught out quite a bit.

No.

But it was probably the best tactical set-up for this match.

That's more the point here. One real striker in the team was the right way to approach this game irrespective of who that player was.Mario got the nod as it was time for him to get on the pitch and give Aguero a rest but without doubt the best striker we have is Aguero.

And if that was Mario playing well he definitely is just a squad player. He put some effort in but was largely inneffective giving fouls away or being iff side.Missed two very good chances but did play a big part in the equaliser.

ATM i think aguero is a better player than balotelli but if you play 4-2-3-1 he doesn't has the ""PHISIQUE DU ROLE"" , mario do.

Personally think that people saying Milner for Nasri are crazy. He can't do what Nasri does.

Milner for De Jong makes sense however. But for nights like yesterday De Jong is perfect.

In short, we have a really strong squad, with various teams being "the best" depending on circumstances and the opposition.

Why do people still think there is anything resembling a strongest team? It's 2012, it's a squad game and in modern day football with the variations in style and tactics of different opponents you have to adapt your own style and tactics to suit. Simples.

when does this happen, if anything vk been caught out more, hes been consistently outstanding throughout the season, when kolo played he made mistake after mistake, with the defence looking very shaky. When lescott plays we look like were not going to concede

Mario has much more to his game when he is up top on his own, he can make runs, has a great first touch, can hold up and shoot from distance aswell. Aguero plays much better when he has a partner.

Because to answer that question would require 2-3 pages for each game. Just a topical question for fun.
