haha yeah wouldn't surprise me if they filmed everyone who went and now the people who attended all have police profiles on them,
It was filmed actually and when the Chief Supt left, he clearly had two "minders" with him in casual clothes. Don't remember seeing them before that so not sure if they were just his security or were part of the intelligence gathering team. Have to agree with Stevie B's assessment of his contribution. Not inspiring at all.

Whaaaat?

It seemed to me you had your own minders last night at the entrance when I approached you one of your Mi5 Minders said: "ohh, thought you were gonna punch him then"
Maybe I shouldn't approach public eye individuals in the future :(
One of the perks of being a mod, Stevie! 24 hour security.

Just back from this. Interesting and quite depressing at the same time. Clearly the police consider that watching football IS a crime from some of the horror stories I heard.

First up was Rodney Rhoden, a name that will be known to many on here. He admitted he'd been a bit of a lad in his time but hadn't been involved in any trouble for many years (about 15 I think). Yet still he and his 18 yr old son get singled out for attention at games by police "spotters".

There was a question about Section14b Banning Orders, with the Chief Supt on the panel consistently claiming that the courts had upheld every one they'd applied for. Much to the audience's amusement, one fan said they hadn't upheld his and he knew of at least 2 others which the court had thrown out.

One awful story of a group of Carlisle supporters who were going to a game in Preston. There were 5 coach loads of them and they'd organised a venue near Preston which was going to lay on food and drink. The organiser told the police this and said they were happy to comply with any requirements the policwe had to escort them into Deepdale. Yet the police refused to talk to them and, at the last minute, told them to go straight to the ground via a certain route, meaning the club that they'd arranged to visit was out of pocket by a few thousand pounds.

One girl had apparently been issued with a banning order simply because she appeared in a group photograph with people described as known trouble-makers. Some incredible stories and not at all impressed with the senior policeman who was there. Sounds very reasonable, claiming that the vast majority of people are decent fans who just want to watch football yet people were telling him that that's not often the way we're treated.

On the upside, I met our very own Stevie B.

I thought, though could be wrong, that the guy who said his 14b order had not been upheld said "and it can be confirmed by these two police officers", not that he knew of two other cases. They were possibly the officers who then looked after Mark roberts on his way out.

With regards Peter Fletcher, it was interesting that he said that standing in seated areas wasnt dangerous and he agrees that football is a passionate arena where people will stand...and yet he commands Showsec to throw people out for standing. He seemed to be pretending to be every fan's friend last night to get an easy ride yet contradicted his hypocrisy that he sends whilst being a keyboard warrior and refusing to answer phone calls and discuss matters.

Peter Fletcher personally agrees that standing is not unsafe behind seats.

Peter Fletcher professionally has to be seen to be dealing with the standing issue that flouts the stadium regulations - as set by the local council in issuing a safety certificate for the stadium in accordance to guidelines set by the government via The Football Licensing Authority.
