Whatever happens now, the only way he will stay with United is if they pay him the money and go out and spend a load of cash in January. This will damage them even more.
either way its a win win.
a) His transfer value will fall rapidly, and there's a big incentive to wait
b) Can't play in Europe
c) How can he prove his fitness / form? He's had one ankle injury after another since March. And this will put off any buyers
I think Chelsea are the most likely buyers. With Spurs and Liverpool also possibilities. I am not sure City would go for it whilst doubts remain over his fitness. And if we buy Rooney, what happens to Tevez, Balotelli, Silva, AJ? One would go?
They share/did share the same agent. If he is getting info, it's coming from the one of the only men who would know.southern muppet said:Project said:Collymore: "I will take anyones money as to where Wayne Rooney will be playing his football next. Anyones."
He does seem beyond sure that Rooney will be a City player doesn't he.

Marvin said:If he doesn't play between now and January then no team will bid for him. It's hard to see how Utd could afford to leave him out for so long, because his transfer value will crash, and the player will be unhappy too. Therefore I expect some accommodation, and public face-saving operationBlueMooner87 said:Cookie will be all over this, this is the big name Sheik Mansour has craved since the begining and I think even if he doesnt play again until jan we will bid for him and go all out to get him
He's scored 1 pen in the League this season, and his ankle repeatedly breaks down so if he doesn't play between now and Janaury how could you justify a big money bid? if he doesn't play until January, I suspect someone might chance their arm with a low bid, but the big clubs will keep out until the Summer, or try and make contact with the player / agent and see how the landlies with regards to a Summer move.

He used to seem beyond sure that he himself was a top-class player so I wouldn't place too much reliance on his opinion.

Then Allan Green came on and said City were still a long way behind the rags, which frankly amazed me. In what way? On the pitch? (We are ahead of them in the league table - or has the league table suddenly started lying?) Off the pitch? Done't make me laugh. We have more financial clout than them, we have man-for-man a stronger squad than them, and we have momentum with us - unlike them.
Agree entirely the balance of power tilted our way two years ago - but sometimes it takes time for the new balance to be clearly felt. Today, the rags are feeling it, and their pain is there for all to see.
You will see the difference between the two clubs when Utd play at home in the Champions League tonight and get a full house whilst we play in the Europa League in front of a hafl empty stadium.
If we were to qualify for the Champions League - possibly at their expense then the gap will be small.........but it takes years and years to build up a support.
