All the god awful average players on ridiculous wages (Bridge on £90k p/week!!) means until their contracts run down we are never getting rid of them. He's doing the rounds of clubs. Blackburn, City, Fulham. and now QPR.

I neither wanted, nor liked MH, and it was my opinion that he should have gone just after christmas in his first season when we arrived in the bottom three.

However, what you've written here is daft. "set us back years", give over, at the time, we were a club that had more money than sense, and we badly needed players who were a level above what we had, so Hughes, with Cook and the board's blessing, agreed fee's and wages to get those players to the club. Those players were the likes of Kolo, Bridge, Adebyor, all players that had experience at the top end of a league that most of our current players mostly had experience of being lower mid/bottom of. Even Santa Cruz had a recent, decent, goal scoring record, and had he been fit enough might have been good enough to elevate us into the top 6 (he's the one I have the biggest gripe about).

We may be stuck with them now, but to get them here, we had no choice but to offer to pay stupid fee's and stupid wages, otherwise we wouldn't have got them, and we probably wouldn't have progressed enough to get the players we have subsequently. It was about moving up a level, and we did, eventually.

MH may have been a shit manager, his biggest issue was (and still is) employing some backroom staff that are/were not up to the job, but to blame him alone for those signings is simply wrong.

As for the "set us back years", its only 2 1/2 years since he left, and we've won the FA Cup, and become Champions, not sure how many years we are behind.....

Respected by who? The biased rag media or 'The Agenda' (which I partially agree with) you bang on about to respect us. Why the fcuk would I or any other fan give two shiny shits what they think about our club.

The simple facts are that Leslie spent about £150 Mil in which he delivered us 1 place downgrade from the season before. That says to me a shite manager, with particular highlights being Fulham, Burnley and Hull draws at Home, never mind the tactical naivety which he showed on numerous occasions, No plan B Hughes he was labelled at one point. If you can see past all of this, then yeah he was a cracking manger weren't he?


But Mancini had the same instruments to achieve these objective set by the board. Hughes failed, Mancini succeeded, people are just comparing there performance based on what they had at their disposable.

The media line which you tow, of an 'unethical' sacking even old Whiskey nose utilised it in May is just pathetic. Manager was under performing a replacement was found simple as, it leaked but that's just the nature of the beast. You would have berated the club if we hadn't of had a man lined up and we were waiting for weeks. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
