I can certainly see the reasoning from a web/search engine perspective. I'd do the same. The club hasn't re-branded itself, it's simply shortened the name for convenience, just like we do with many things. I don't see how anyone finds the name 'Man City' in the slightest bit disrespectful anyhow. The disdain of rival supporters only really comes across when they purposely type it as 'Citeh'.Why is everybody bitching about the website? It's slick, easy to navigate, and it runs fast as well. I thought the last one was total trash.

First of all they have't changed the name. Look at the badge and look at the kits. Man City just rolls off the tongue and everyone I know refers to us as that. Yes, I know it's your club and I'm here taking a different point of view than you but it's also my club as well. It's a modern digital social world we live in. Man City is an easy and direct way to unify web searches, twitter handles, web sites, etc.
Everybody knows we are Manchester City Football Club. Simple as that. I
Just had a play around on the new site - its actually very good - takes a bit of getting used to but I think we will grow to like it. Not too bothered about the Man City thing - I call us Manchester City - thats all that matters. Still hate that kit but speculation will start on next years by New Year!
Where are they calling us man city?
From what I can see the only thing that is man city is the domain name which is simply just an abbreviation and if that's it you need to all get a grip!
The single word 'City' is far too generic for website/search engine optimisation. If we had to rebrand the name which has been acceptable for quite a few years then surely the obvious would have been a plain and simple City.
