Sorry, really can't see the problem with Man City. City fans have been using it for donkeys years.
One of the first songs I learnt was about Johny Crosson to the tune of Molly Malone.
"Singing City, Man City alive aliveoo"
City or Man City for me

What I don't get is I've called us Man City since I was a kid in Manchester many moons ago . There have been some odd threads on here , this is another one.

Think it's a case of when necessary like in a song it has always been used, but generally fans have prefered just City or Manchester City. So to decide to use it as an official moniker that will make it to become somewhat natuaral to use instead of the other 2.

I take this as something not that important but see why it would annoy (I never use it either normally) akin to the deopping of FC or football club off the badge last year.

I am more pissed off and bothered by the shit kit than a website name if honest
 
Dont know any blues who call us Man City so when I read it all I can think of is a whiney cockney going on about faaackin Maaan City
 
Wait. didn't we have merchandise in the 70s with Man.City on them? I remembered owning a few even though they were before my time.
 
I've not read all the pages so it's probably already been mentioned but the club have changed their email addresses from @mcfc.co.uk to @mancity.com

What, we're not Manchester City, we're Manchester City Football Club Ltd

We must tell the club now and make sure they know how we fans feel. This is by far the most important issue affecting the club
 
It'll probably end up turning into a witch hunt and/or "biggest City fan pissing contest", but it would be an interesting exercise to see if "Man City" was common in certain areas or at certain times and not in others. What you grow up with usually has a big effect on what you think's 'right'. I grew up in Ashton in the 70s and always called us Man City (my sports teacher also called it 'soccer', as did my dad on occasion, but we probably don't want to dive down that particular rabbit-hole). I've got the push-pins and the map ready...

Absolutely but I don't mind us just being called City but not Man City, that's what non City. fans say
 
We can't be City obviously, it confuses anyone with another club even if we are most likely to be called City, we just can't have that doubt. Can't believe people are cribbing about the domain change from co.uk to .com, .com is what most people in the world end up writing. As far as mancity is concerned, I don't really prefer it, maybe manchester city, but I din't like MCFC either. But its hardly a pressing issue, its just a website and twitter. The badge is mint however.
 
I love how rival fans will say "haha Citeh" as if that winds us up, I love the Mancunian way of saying it, shows great character as Brenda would say.
