We can still qualify and it is very possible

If two or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches,
the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings (in descending
order):
a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the
teams in question;
b) superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams
in question;
c) higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the
teams in question;
d) higher number of goals scored away from home in the group matches
played among the teams in question;
e) if, after having applied criteria a) to d), teams still have an equal ranking,
criteria a) to d) are reapplied exclusively to the matches between the
teams in question to determine their final rankings. If this procedure does
not lead to a decision, criteria f) to h) apply;
f) superior goal difference from all group matches played;
g) higher number of goals scored from all group matches played;
h) higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question,
as well as its association, over the previous five seasons

If CSKA lose 1-1 still means it Roma go through on better GD overall?
Roma don't have a better GD over all. They got twatted by bayern 7-1 or something.
Roma only have the better GD between us,cska and themselves.

Is the GD decided between all the group games or the three teams in a mini league that finish on the same points?
Yes.

In effect, Bayern are removed from our group and results and GD from the remaining three teams comes into question.

So ignore 7-1, ignore our win tonight, ignore CSKA's 0-1 close defeat at home by a penalty...Bayern don't exist...it's just a mini-league of three thereafter.

Sorry to confuse things even further but as it stands we pretty much know that if we have a score draw and Moscow lose, we will go through

If Moscow win, it's all over for us

But what if Moscow grab a draw? As do we. How does head to head work as roma beat Moscow, we beat roma and Moscow beat us. Will it then go to GD overall meaning we could still go through. Agh uefa hurt my head.

Looking at the post from Corky above, if it's 1-1 in Rome (and Bayern beat CSKA) we go through on group GD (Point E) for all matches played.

Let's not forget it is in Bayern's interest to lose, whether they will do it in front of their home fans is the question.

I am not sure it is. City playing a group winner may be better in the long run than CSKA doing the same.

Good point :)

If we draw with Roma & Cska draw...then all 3 three teams have 6 points ....when tied goal diff doesn't come into play
It goes head to head
This will be cancelled out ,it goes into a mini Lge just between the games between the teams involved ...Roma will go through scored 5 against Cska (Bayern games won't come into play)
However if city n Roma draw ...n Cska lose
0-0 Roma go through (away goal at city)
1-1 head to head between city n Roma tied it then goes to group GD ...City will qualify if Cska lose...
2-2 head to head 2 away goals ...City through
So a 1-1 draw or better n Cska lose we go through...in a complicated format

Or would it be down to rule c. Meaning that roma would be seen to go through.

Why can't it just be GD done!

If we draw against Roma and CSKA draw against Bayern then we are definitely out.

If we beat Roma and CSKA beat Bayern we are also definitely out.

This is because CSKA beat us on head to head.

So we need:

To win and CSKA to draw/lose

or

To get a score draw (0-0 is no good for us in any permutation) and CSKA to lose
