It turns out that every order for the three teams is possible i.e. any one of City, CSKA, or Roma could finish 2nd, 3rd, or bottom of the group. And most of the combinations could happen during the games, which could produce a bizarre finish to the group.

Here's one scenario;

10 mins Roma 1-0 City Bayern 0-0 CSKA Roma qualifies, CSKA Europa League (Oh no!)
25 mins Roma 1-1 City Bayern 0-0 CSKA CSKA qualifies, City Europa League (Come on City!)
38 mins Roma 1-1 City Bayern 1-0 CSKA City qualifies, Roma Europa League (Love them bloody Germans!)
50 mins Roma 1-1 City Bayern 1-1 CSKA CSKA qualifies, City Europa League (shit, Russian bastards!)
72 mins Roma 2-1 City Bayern 1-1 CSKA Roma qualifies, CSKA Europa League (shit competition anyway - glad we're not in the Europa League)
73 mins Roma 2-1 City Bayern 1-2 CSKA Roma qualifies, CSKA Europa League (that's it then - Pellegrini out!)
85 mins Roma 2-2 City Bayern 1-2 CSKA CSKA qualifies, City Europa League (Aguero! - let's win the EL!)
90 mins Roma 2-2 City Bayern 2-2 CSKA Roma qualifies, CSKA Europa League (Shit! shit shit! Hate them bloody Germans!)
