We fight till the end

Chelsea looked tired and very vulnerable against Liverpool tonight. Lucky to get a draw. Cahill and Terry do not like people running straight at them. They are slow. More teams will look at this and realise what they need to do against them.
Don't get me wrong, they are a very strong outfit, but don't believe this invincibilty rubbish. Theyll crack under pressure like the rest of them. It's just up to us to apply it.

I agree they are a strong side, but far from unbeatable. I also think they have had an incredibly easy ride regarding injuries, and that has allowed them to play a settled system. We have not been so lucky, and if they start losing key players I'm not sure the points cushion they have will be enough.

If you think they are tired now, just wait till April...

Chelsea have had one big advantage over us this season and that is there lack of injuries...

It also means the players have had no break and come the last weeks of the season when the pressure is on they will be dead on there feet..

We just need to be on there shoulder waiting, will be great to watch..

Of the 22 league games played to date, Chelsea's key players have the following number of starts; Terry (22), Cahill (21), Ivanovic (22), Matic (21), Hazard (22), Fabregas (21), Costa (19). The single games missed by Matic and Fabregas were due to suspension, as was one of Costa's absences. So seven of their most important players have failed to start in a total of 6 league games between them.

Compare that with some of our key players; Kompany (14), Silva (16), Nasri (16), Toure (18), Kun (17), so these five have failed to start in a total of 29 games. Our performances have suffered on the back of this, and these numbers don't show the effects of rustiness on players returning from longer term injuries - Kun and VK spring to mind.

If these numbers were the other way round, does anyone really believe Chelsea would be above us in the table? I certainly don't, and there is plenty of time for things to even themselves out.

Food for thought.

I don't expect the injury situation to change. Chelsea seem always to have less walking wounded. But the fatigue could very likely be a factor. The one period they had a bunch of challenging games was over Xmas, and they looked progressively worse and worse as time went on.

Once the CL re-starts there will be no more Wed eve strolls against the likes of Sporting Lisbon. It will be more intense by the week.

Two things on my immediate wish list though:
- We must get at least a draw at the Bridge to stay within reasonable distance

- Liverpool to knock Chelsea out of the Capital One Cup. If they were to win that, they would get the same kind of energy boost we did last year. We want Mourinho to keep sweating out of fear that his erstwhile invincibles could actually end up trophyless for the second season in a row.

Would you expect anything else.

If we don't then players and management need serious looking at as to whether they are part of the future.

What your inferring is we won't fight to the death.

I think we will but if not and we just give up then imagine what this group would be like when things get really tough.

Only Chelsea have improved of the main contenders on last year so far notwithstanding Southampton who don't appear to be going away just yet.

Far too early for one of these "we can do it threads" where everyone says it's not possible but then like a good Rocky movie we comeback and win it in the end. Wait until about April when posters are ready to throw themselves in front of trains.
