We finished 9pts behind Manure last season

If we finish more than 9pts behind them this season, is that progress?

We virtually finished 2nd last season (only missed out on GD).

Absolutely not. We finish 9 points or more behind them and Mancini will get sacked. 100%.

Hopefully the blokes out in Dubai make strategic decisions based on more than a comparison with United as most of our fans seem to judge our season.

Its a bit tiresome as for all Uniteds injury they will end up with a record points haul as will we. The team is progressing, but their is going to be disappointments along the way, whether Mancini, Mourinho or captain america is in charge.

How can you say the team is progressing when we've just turned that performance in at this stage of the season against Sunderland? How can you say we're progressing when we turned in the performance we did at Swansea at this stage of the season? Honestly, this mythical progress people are talking about came to grinding halt at Christmas. Since then we've been slowly regressing.

Because I will make a judgement over the course of the season rather than based on individual matches. Teams during a season have purple patches and also have slumps in form. At the minute we are struggling, similarly at the outset no team could touch us, but that was also a false economy.

We have put some great performances in since christmas, Chelsea last week was one example, Spurs, Porto home and away. I think our record at the minute is 22-5-4 and we have just equalled a record for consecutive home wins. I would suggest that is progress.

You don't know that that will happen. You write "100%" but you know about "0%" of what will happen. You're guessing and that doesn't confirm anything 100%.

You cannot simply compare points total it is clear this year with being on top for the majority of the campaign we have improved

Spot on. My hysteria got the better for me for a second! I've no idea what will happen. And unless Mourinho is available I've no doubt Mancini will get another shot at it next season. Still, if we do finish 9 points behind the rags it'll be a disappointment of epic proportions after the way we started the season. But as they say, the table doesn't lie and finish where you deserve to finish.
