We need a fourth striker

Ideally any 4th striker would be eligible to play in the Europa League, without displacing one of our better players from our 25 as we might want to have them available if we reach the final. Not sure how much flexibility we have to achieve that.

I cant see us making a big signing in Jan unless its part of a Tevez exchange.

Robbie Keane on a short term loan anyone?

I would have him ahead of Defoe all day long mate. Unfortunately he is no spring chicken anymore, but a short term loan sounds a good deal for us.

I would really want to know whats happening with Guidetti next season before any talk of proper signings.

A loan signing as fourth choice is the best option at the moment. Then get Guidetti back for next season..

Agreed, Feyenoord have apparently though enquired about having him next season also.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH hang on lads.......bloody hell..cant believe we aint brought him up yet, honest to god

Our answer to the prayers is a simple one

GET ROCKY BACK FROM BETIS asap........job sorted

I was slightly alarmed that last night Adam Johnson was the only attacking player on the bench. Had we been desperate for creativity/goals we wouldn't have had many options to change things around.

Fortunately it didn't happen but if one of our three forwards were to pick up an injury we could struggle with all the games. Three are easy to rotate. Two aren't.

I don't think going out splashing the cash is the right approach though. If we can offload Tevez and maybe get a loan in as part of the deal it could be the way to go.

Should be going all out for a Tevez replacement and a straight swap deal if possible. Fuck Milan.

Its a tough one as we do need a 4th striker but who out there isn't too expensive; is happy to not always start and more importantly; is good enough to play for us.

Its hard to find someone out there and the only person I could think of is Saldado at Valencia. Whenever i've watched him he's scored and played well but I reckon he'll be too expensive being Valencia's main man.

It's a shame we had to let Bellamy go, I don't know what he was like behind the scenes or if he was shit stirring etc but based purely on his on the field performance then he'd be almost perfect as a left winger/4th striker and would be happy to not always get a start.

it would have to be a Michael Owen type striker (only less of a cnut), a veteran that knows his role, not a Van Persie-type striker.

This is not accurate. Go watch a replays of his goals so far this season. The one against the rags. The one against aston villa. The one against chelsea. Absolutely brilliant goals. Watch more games mate. I think mario is the best striker we have at the moment.

Agreed. Aguero should be, but he's not firing on all cylinders at the moment for some reason. (And neither is Dzeko, clearly). That said, god help the other teams when Aguero starts being clinical again and Dzeko hits a run of form. I am sure this will happen soonish.

Haha yeah. I think dzeko needs a good run of games though. But I always read the training reports but not once have I have heard about dzeko scoring in the 10-a-side games against our own defenders. Odd that is. But I feel he needs to think faster in the premier league and move the ball quicker which he is not doing enough yet. But he is still a class striker. Btw its actually 2 goals against the rags in regards to balotelli. How could I forget, 2 amazing goals and the inducing of the sending-off that resulted in us smashing them so hard it still is having a mental impact on them (i.e the CL results at home and the incredible loss to blackburn)..

I genuinely believe he is trying too hard! He is so desperate to do well, he runs around like an idiot and almost panics sometimes when the ball comes to him. He needs to calm down a bit and just relax.

I personally don't feel the need for one at the minute. Although we didn't have an orthodox striker on the bench last night, we still have options.

Yaya and maybe even Milner can push forward with a defensive mid coming on and you can easily make Silva play off someone upfront. Just look at his record when playing in this role for Spain - pretty impressive.

I would say maybe get Guidetti back at the end of the season, or maybe even Scapuzzi, but for now, I think we're OK (only MPO though).
