We really do have the best fans in the world.

Most blues were rags or Stockport fans until about 2012 fact. Add those to the recent addition of yanks that believe anything on the Internet and folk like me that are just general cunts and it's a pretty depressing picture.

Were we fuck you fucking Muppet! We averaged 28,000 in the old third division when we were shit with no prospect of ever being successful and took over almost every ground we went to away, I know because I was there so you can fuck right off with this utter bollocks. We also had over 40,000 at the Etihad nearly every game when the attendance was 48,000 and again we were light years from winning anything and watching utter boring shite under Pearce. I doubt you are even a City fan you're just a rag or s dipper on the wind up. Every fan from other club's couldn't believe our loyalty for sticking with the club through 35 years of mediocrity, even the media gave us grudging praise for that. Fast forward the takeover and a few trophies and you get thousands of know fuck all idiots like you climbing out of the woodwork to spout utter shite.

I was there and I’ve said it in another thread, the atmosphere pre match was fantastic (and in fact 95% of those I spoke to had tickets, so it’s not a case that the noise was made by non match going fans)

Nerves were certainly a factor in the stadium, and yes a lot were drinking from 1pm onwards (as were Chelsea), but honestly I do not blame the fans one iota. At the risk of getting a load of shit on here, I’ve thought about it deeply since the final whistle, and I think it’s another thing that’s on the manager.

Immediate and very noticeable change in mood after the lineup was announced which continued into the match and affected both our fans and (in turn) our players. I mean come on, we all had a feeling it would be one of those days about 15 mins in right? Times that feeling by 100, and that’s what it felt like to be in the stadium.

All I can say is, imagine the confidence it would have brought to announce the same line up as PSG second leg. There wouldn’t have been a momentary muting of our pre match atmosphere, a feeling that we were already set up at a disadvantage, and even a goal down, we wouldn’t have been twitching for a change and we could still have backed the players to turn it around. It wasn’t a “knee jerk” reaction as people love to frame it on here, but a deja vu. We’ve seen this time and time again with pep, and in the one game that meant so much to this group of players, he played our only game of the season without a defensive midfielder. Had he played our usual tactics and the PSG line up, we wouldn’t have had a complaint if we lost
I can well understand the fans in the stadium feeling deflated when they saw the team, many of us did at home. First thing I said when I saw it was “I can’t see us winning this now.“ I wonder if it had a similar effect on the players.

I believe it's what's know as a clarkie in these parts :)

City fans were brilliant in the lead up to the game, but like others have said seemed quiet at the actual match. Chelsea fans seemed more huddled together to make an atmosphere whereas City fans looked to be more separated
I was on a UEFA Ticket to the side of the Chavs.. despite UEFA being totally aware of my allegiance they put me (and other Blues) in a section that was simply an extension of the Chelsea stand.. We tried to keep the noise going but it was an uphill task

Thanks Paul..you sum it up nicely..if it is a wind up then frankly the worst ever..the comments about Blues having been rags is a disgrace..these comments should be banned.

Yes many of us at home thought we were doomed on seeing that lineup and after twenty minutes of watching us stumble and stutter about we knew we were. Unfortunately for us Pep couldn't see this, admit he'd made a cock up and change the fucking thing.

The fan's after a couple of days travelling and partying had burnt themselves out which often happens in big games. With nothing to give them hope or a second wind on the pitch they were bound to fizzle out a bit.

It's not the time for wind ups. Saturday is still raw and we're now treated to endless internet dickheads from other club's taking the piss, also knobhead ex players like Evra the rag shitehouse.without our own adding to it. Also our greatest ever goalscorer plastered everywhere in a Barcelona shirt. Time will heal and we'll soon appreciate another great season with a title and cup win but at the minute it's still raw.

The expression on the face of Joleon lescott when he heard the team news was repeated many times by the rest of us. Puzzling to say the least, and I for one was very confident before the game, but on seeing the team was very unsure.

Ageism is illegal for a start. You don't even want young fans at the game, it is young male fans, and not ones with families who are "just as bad".

You can't decide who get tickets on age, gender and family composition.
Ok so no examples of any “hate speech” then.

At no point did I say I want all tickets to go to angry young men but in the same way that devoting the entire north stand to families was a disaster the ongoing inability to get tickets of atmosphere generating age groups is a huge problem for blues who want to be part of a bouncing atmosphere in the ground.

The ticket sales for Wembley destroys your argument. The younger fans weren't exactly queueing round the block for the tickets, us foc's bought them though.

That said the original shite comment was from a RAG, 2 posts in 11 years, so I am not going to fall out with anyone and give him his power wank.
Which Wembley sales do you mean ? We have so many these days !!

It started off well for the first 15 mins I thought, but pretty quite after that and virtual silence after they scored. Definitely nerves, and some seemed a bit worse for wear after the effects of the day.

Blocks near the corner in S05 and the top tier sounded louder to me when they got going, but it just wasn't often enough. I was in S10 and it wasn't great (after that first bit).

Hopefully we get a chance to rectify that in St Petersburg.

Slight aside but related and at least we are not quite there yet but on the metro I was on going up to the ground there were two giddy chelsea ‘fans’ from somewhere other European country, full gear on. Me and my lad and another 4 blues sat there and these two clowns started up in our faces with ‘champions of Europe you‘ll never sing that’, ‘you’re only here for the chelsea’ etc, word perfect but in foreign accents and both only around 25 years old. Truly the most bizarre thing I have ever seen. We were all genuinely bewildered, a crack felt like it would have been bullying. Hope we never get to that stage although judging from the amount of foreign city fans at away games in the last few years maybe we already have

For those that did the “hard yards” - York away, Lincoln, Stoke, Macclesfield etc, thank you so much.

They’ve been rewarded with 5 PL titles and all of the away games in them, 6 League Cup Finals, 4 FA Cup semis at Wembley, 3 FA Cup Finals, countless CL away games, 1 Champions League Final.

How much reward is enough for the “hard yards”?

At what point do we give the next generation the opportunity to put in the yards?

Supporting City was never about being in a closed-off, elite members club. It used to be about welcoming people in, not shutting them out.

When we die. You can go.

What I find hard to understand is why none of Pep‘s huge entourage suggested that he change things before it was too late. We could easily have been 2 or 3 down by half time, it was only Chelsea‘s poor finishing that kept us in it.
I foolishly believed after Lyon that he would not play silly buggers again.

It's baffling. If I was a player is have been over to that bench as well, or at half time and gave him what for.

Good for them, and good for you mate, hope you all enjoyed your day.

I’m not really talking about the final as such. I could have been there if I wanted, but I couldn’t really justify the two grand.

I’m talking about away games in general, lads in their teens and early 20s don’t get the same chances to go as we did because Dad’s Army still want their dicks sucking because they went to Barnsley away in 1998.
We didn't play Barnsley away in 1998. 1898 yes, but not 1998.

I don’t know if we were second best to Chelsea on Saturday because I wasn’t there.

Unfortunately our support is often poor. See it every week at the stadium. Lots of singing in the bar and then very little in the stand. I see the same guys 20s/30s singing like their lives depend on it and then only a couple of times when the game is on. I know because around 30 of them sit in SS3 314.

I’m an old fart compared, 55, but I shout and sing till I’ve got no voice left. It’s really not hard actually supporting the team.

What I do know is if I’d have been lucky enough to be at the final I’d have given my all to support the boys.

The league cup v spurs, that didn't sell out at 22k to the SAGA supporters club. I have no desire to attack any supporter young or old but because people didn't hear us singing on the tele we are now being attacked
