Weight loss jabs

The NHS under its NICE guidelines will do a very detailed cost/benefit analysis on the drug. Much like the various wonder cures (that the demons in big pharma try to sell us at astronomical prices) often get rejected because the bang for buck is deemed too low, some geek will have looked at the pros and cons to offering this medication. I should imagine it goes like this.

Cons.
Expensive, known and potentially unknown long term side effects, the delivery process not everyones cup of tea, will annoy the hard Right finger pointers, will annoy the just go to the gym clowns" has consequences when the injections are stopped.

Pros.
Will, on-mass, bring down the nations BMI very effectively,
A simple way to circumnavigate the issues caused by the monstrous processed food industry, the alcohol industry and the take away industry that have taken over every high street in every town. Could break the cycle for many and directly save the lives of 1000s, will offer the best chance to alleviate the horrors of food addiction that thanks to gym lobby is the biggest, propaganda induced sneared at addiction in the western world. Convenient, simple, will shift the slide for many into diabetes with all the complications and expense that comes with that horror, will really annoy these Catholic style guilt trip merchants who insist every improvement in lifestyle MUST be accompanied by guilt and struggle.

Get real, our country has a problem. A potentially exceedingly expensive problem. Could these injections really help some very sick people? Well... duhhhhhhh!

Who, openly, "mocks" heavy people in the gym??

Do you think the whole gym gets together, points and laughs?

I know when I've seen bigger people in the gym, in my head I say "Go on, son!" or "Go on, girl!". Don't ever recall seeing someone mocking anyone.

My daughter is of a standard weight for her size and age, being a former boxer, and she feels like all eyes are on her when she's in the gym!! I'm astonished by her mindset, so I feel MOSTLY, this is a self confidence issue.
The OP I responded to first seems to

Calling them fat fucks

The ****

I agree with you, having once been a member of two gyms over a number of years, I haven’t ever come across anyone mocking another member because of their size, male or female. It’s just not the thing people would do in the gyms I’ve used.

I got called a fat **** once. My missus can be harsh.

All weight loss comes down to basic maths.

Eat fewer calories than you burn.

That’s literally it.

It’s not fucking hard.

I say this as someone’s who’s a bit overweight but has lost a chunk of weight in the past, but who exercises a lot and is also vividly aware that the problem is his affection for red wine and baked goods.

Some smackhead called me a fat **** once.

On balance I reckon I’ve done a bit better than he has, considering I was bit pissed having come out of a boozy lunch in a Michelin starred restaurant, and he was sat in a pool of his own piss outside a bus stop.

That was what I meant. On paper, it’s simple, in real life, it isn’t.

Indeed.

I lost about 20kg a few years back just through counting everything in myfitnesspal. I did and still do hike and cycle loads.

Put about 10kg back on but that’s entirely through my conscious decision of fuck it, I enjoy Barolo and brie far too much.

What gets me is people who get hooked into the weight loss cults like slimming world etc, whose business model is to intentionally confuse people so they stay signed up to their bullshit pyramid schemes.

Evil companies.

If someone makes the effort, which a lot are accused of not doing, to actually go to the gym then they should be encouraged, not mocked or ridiculed by small minded people

That might be why they shy away.

I don't openly mock them, just on here :) honestly I really do hope they can turn their lives round, taking a gym membership is the first step towards a healthier lifestyle but please, put a bit more effort in. Just feel that sometimes the lack of effort is just symptomatic of their whole lack of self discipline and intent to get fit. No pain, no gain and for some there is a general reluctance to go beyond their comfort zone, to really commit to change. That said, I also realise that everyone starts somewhere, and for some, even getting to the gym is a significant first step. At least when they're at the gym they aren't stuffing their face.

Depending on their weight , age and any number of factors maybe a gentle 30 min walk is all they can manage right now while working towards better, alot of injury rehab is gentle walks

It wasn’t piss and I actually said you had a fat conk which also gave light to your square set jaw and other discernible man like features.
And who eats in a tyre factory anyway ?

10 out of 10, what's your point caller?
Im glad ur family and everybody u know has never suffered with addiction issues , i mean its amazing the millions that do cant just shake themselves out of it, wonder why they hadnt thought of it, then again millions swerve having a brain and the brave souls survive, you are proof of this
