Welcome to the new forum

appreciate a lot of time and effort has been put into the new forum , but i preferred the old format , pressed "quote" when referring to another post , and nothing appeared on my post , new format is a little confusing at the moment , but no doubt a computer illiterate like myself will eventually get used to it.

When you press quote and you get the box to type in at the bottom of the box is a little sign that says 'insert quotes' and then you press the one(s) you want to insert and it comes up on the screen. It gets easier, I had the same problem when it was brand new.

Maybe the mods/tech bods who help us in the tech forum can post a beginners/illiterates guide to the new forum? :-)

Just in case you don't know, if you only want to quote the one poster you only have to hit the reply link. The quote link is purely to quote more than one poster, you then get a pop-up giving you the choice to reorganise them if you wish.

I've just noticed the "go to post" option when you click on a poster's name in a quoted post, so you can find the original.

That's a nice addition. Unless it was there before on the old forum then nevermind...

But I find that you have to move your mouse to a position just to the right of the colon after 'said:' to get that feature. (Had me clicking aimlessly for ages.)

Ahh, that is nice (and totally missed, by me anyway). Cheers for putting that up.
I'd never noticed that either, good spot pudge.

How the fook do you quote two posts at once?
If you see someone quoting someone else and use the 'quote' button and then 'insert quote' it only adds the latest post when I want to quote both of them. annoying feature! (I'll take my words back if it turns out I just don't know how to use the site lol)

and sorry, I'm sure someone has asked it but after browsing the posts for five mins but couldn't find the answer i got bored

Press +Quote on each of the posts you wish to quote
Then go to the reply box and press 'insert quotes'
A new dialogue box opens where you can choose the quotes you want, reorder them or edit them.

Okay, thanks.

But this seems like a problem if the former post is not on the same page as the latter..?
