Well done Bobby

I don't like it. Partly because I want City to be perceived at worthy, glorious champions (if we do it of course), not...

Not a chance! City will be perceived as 'buying the title' and viewed with that level of negativity regardless. Again, comparisons with others should be made, but they won't and the perception will be a negative one focusing on money (even though others have bought success).

I'm not sure that was the overriding perception of Chelsea when they won it. Most people focussed on Jose and also their steel. I want people to focus on our elan.

If/when we win the league we'll get the plaudits, let's not all get too insular with our paranoia. There may be a little bitterness from some quarters, but overall we will be lauded from the hilltops. As will Mancini, as long as he doesn't keep doing this kind of shit.

I'd like to believe he knows what he doing with it, Pidge, but in my heart of hearts I don't.

He gets flustered under pressure, we've seen it before. It worries me. He's looked rattled this last few weeks as our form has dipped. This is just an extension of this. To be fair to him he's under immense pressure to deliver the title.

You were saying this at this exact time last season. 'Keegan-esque' is what I remember yet we pulled through and achieved our goals. There's a real feeling of injustice around the club at the moment and that's carried down to the team and manager. I'm sure once we're back playing to our best and he has the players back who he trusts we'll see the cool Bobby again.

Good post. That's exactly what I hope. And I certainly feel the injustice too, I'd like to think we will use it for a dunkirk spirit.

-- Tue Jan 17, 2012 10:51 am --

Bobby has deflected the attention off the team again and on to him. By not apologising for waving an imaginary card (not sure what colour because it was erm, imaginary). This is classic management and long may it continue. In fact he should do it every game just to piss the whole fair playing nation off.

Oh, the phone in on talk shite is about the waving of imaginary cards, brilliant!.

Why don't we all take a yellow and red card to the games, then when there is an incident and Bobby Manc see's us all waving them maybe he wont bother , there can't be any rules saying we wouldn't be allowed to take cards in surely, I also reckon Bobby and the players would love it .

It's whinging, yes. But where's the cheating? The only cheat i saw was Figueroa.

Maybe not the best phrase. But if the theory presented that he's doing it on purpose to get into referee's heads is true, then that's cheating. Or at least attempting to influence.

You know what I mean. I don't want us to be like that, I want City to win with dignity.

win with dignity ??

to be honest I believe that you would prefer to see the City lose, at least until Mancini is the manager.

Agreeing with Dismal that Bob is short of class is a big mistake - edit
as you see he has now added "poor judgement" and "hypocrisy" to the list - Bobby will be condemned as "a bit thick" before long - mark my words
You're a week too late for that one
You are quite right, I should have said 'again' because it's a recurring dismal theme.
The serious point is that journos legitimately look to be the voice of the fans and look at fora for issues. Dismal's hatred of Mancini provides media bottom feeders with the sort of material which will be used as we encounter setbacks. It's quite deliberate, he knows, as we all should, that turning the fans against the manager is the way to get a replacement.

The way some of the media are reacting this morning, you'd think he'd committed war crimes rather than brandishing an imaginary card. It's not really a big deal, but it'd make life easier all round if he refrained from doing it.

However, I think it's a bit fanciful to suggest that he's deliberately doing it to deflect attention from the team. He obviously feels aggreived by some of the decisions going against us, and rightly so, but he looks like he's starting to feel the pressure. I'm sure he can handle it though.

We would all like to see City win with quality and dignity but this media campaign against Mancini is ludicrous. Its such a small trivial thing and most if not all managers have a go at referees decisions by shouting at the ref or berating the 4th official. There really isnt that much difference between them all.

There are better, classier ways to make a point than running around waving cards like some bloke on the Kippax. We need someone with a cool head over the next four months. He needs to set the example.
Please give it a rest, DD. We all know you have an anti-Mancini agenda. If he was to act cool like Sven all the time, the players would think he doesn't care and respond accordingly. He is showing his passionate nature without getting himself banned to the stands like other managers have been. I agree with the poster who reckons we should give him a set of red and yellow cards to wave at the fourth official rather than imaginary ones. After all, the fourth official has bugger-all influence on the game, unlike the referee who has to endure pressure from the players on the pitch.

I made those comments about the cards as a joke to ridicule people like you.

All of it - you say he doesn't know what he's doing, which is patently wrong, and you have no idea if he gets flustered under pressure, is rattled at the moment or if he's under immense pressure to deliver the title.
