The way some of the media are reacting this morning, you'd think he'd committed war crimes rather than brandishing an imaginary card. It's not really a big deal, but it'd make life easier all round if he refrained from doing it.
However, I think it's a bit fanciful to suggest that he's deliberately doing it to deflect attention from the team. He obviously feels aggreived by some of the decisions going against us, and rightly so, but he looks like he's starting to feel the pressure. I'm sure he can handle it though.
I haven't seen a single paper or any media today.
But as soon as I saw him doing it last night I thought "Oh you dick, you'll be all over the papers tomorrow". It was always going to be that way, which is why he shouldn't have done it.
We agree on your second point. But how do you think he'll be if we're 1-0 up in a title decider against United with our backs to the wall? I know what I think....;-)
'Warts and all' is a phrase that springs to my mind with regards to Bobby.
His passion and honesty is both his biggest strength and can be perceived to be our achilles heal.
Hope I don't become totally paranoid but if we take out the deliberate hand ball
incident would the overall coverage of the press (for what that matters) been postive?
No , I didnt think so either.
