well done hughes and well done city

Hughes should stay, just not as the number one - He has a abrilliant eye for a good player and his footballing nouse is exeptional I just don't think his tactical knowledge is up tp scratch

He seems to keep picking the wrong team every week, only the odd position but the wrong team nevertheless. He can't call it when to make the right subs and all he seems to do is sit in teh dug out looking stroppy

Hughes in - Just not leading the charge

ha ha only city could attract worst plastics than the rags.

Yes I do appear a Hughes outer, but in fact I want Hughes to succeed DeNiro. But it seems like our players he needs a kick up the backside to remind him, ok, is no longer good enough. The sstandard of the last two league performances have not been good enough, appalling, Mark needs to sort it out and that may mean looking ruthlessly at his coaches and even himself and getting the right back up staff if needed.

I will however complain and criticise when I see such below par performances; even if I am wrong. 4th is good but we should have 4 or 5 points more easily by now which we will desperately need in the second half of the season to get CL. I will be gutted if Aston Villa or Spuds get a CL place and we lose out, in a season of real opportunity, this would be massive underperformance.

I want Mark Hughes to stay, but stay and succeed.
i agree with the hughes and success, if we dont win something or finish top 5 i think he will have had his chance and should be replaced, i speak as i find though and i like where we are right now, i dont like how we got here but it will do as we are still a project in my eyes, lets be fair had we got our pen yesterday things would have looked an awful lot brighter this morning.it would disguise the fact we were poor though so hughes still has work to do.

This post by the OP only makes sense if it was talking about typical old City, no money, a half decent team, a poor squad. Unfortunately we are not,we have one of the best teams in the Premiership and the best squad in the Premiership.

We have therefore underachieved, remember we have only played weak opposition recently, and still struggled to keep a clean sheet, or to win.

It also only makes sense if we ignore the underperformance by the team in the last two games and that key players are underperforming (just about all bar Given).

For typical old City this would be good, but we are not typical old City, we are 'Winning Mentality' City, a new breed who have spent a Kings Ransom on players and yet we are a million miles away from the ability and performance of Man U and Chelsea.

So yes DeNiro, well done City and Hughes we are marginally better than 'Typical Old' City but still light years behind Man U and Chelsea and penny pinching Arsenal who pay buttons for their players. Hardly an achievement to be proud of after having spent several hundred million on players.

So perhaps you could retitle this thread;
Well Done 'Typical Old City' and Typical Old Underachieving Overspending Manager somehow despite you we are 4th.

my my you hughes outers are getting desperate are'nt you, what on earth will you do with yourselves when we finish 4th and win a cup?

ha ha only city could attract worst plastics than the rags.

I feel you held back a tad there Bill. ;)

you know me, always the diplomat:)

Rome wasn't built in a day. Yes we've not hit the heights yet but our defence has got a lot better.
I thought Kompany was a rock in defence yesterday compared to jittery Lescott. Shay played very well too.

4th with a game in hand. Bring on Burnley and the Scousers.

No need to top myself just yet

Whilst delighted with our position in the League and the quality of our squad I have been frankly underwhelmed with our performances this season. There is something just not right with the balance of the side as it looks like a collection of individuals rather than a team.

As others have pointed out we have had a lot of "on paper" easy fixtures so far and that has certainly helped.

I would like to see us being more adventurous, especially against the lesser teams and would implore Hughes to start giving Vladamir Wiess some more playing time. At Birmingham he could have been given a run for the last 20 minutes and couldn't have done any worse than Petrov or Ireland.

4th in the table with a game in hand, injuries all over the squad, lost one game all season(robbed at that)and now today held on to a point when not at our best.
like it.
a liitle tweaking and champions league here we come.

Even though it could and should have been much better ask any of our supporters before the start of the season this is where we'll be after 10 games with a game in hand of Liverpool and they'd have bitten you're hand off....and a Carling Cup Q/F to boot.
We are only going to get better & better as the season goes on and I'm not sure that's the case with Liverpool at the moment - especially if the spanish waiter gets sacked!
So indeed well done to Hughes & City.

Hughes out ! Lmfao 4th in league and on our way to wemberly. We've played some tough teams lately. Remember top 4 not title contenders.

imo it is a little bit of "happy clapping" to be saying well done Hughes and well done City.

of course lying 4th is good news but considering we had 15 points from first 6 games then to have only picked up 4 draws from last 4 games is rather disappointing.

if we had played decent football yesterday to come away with a point then all well and good however we were dreadful and never looked like creating chances which all in all is not "well done".

i am more concerned with the pattern of our play and the fact that 4-4-2 with Barry and De Jong in the middle is still not working as once again there was no-one carrying the ball through the middle to link up with the forwards - it is harsh to say Stevie didn;t have an impact on the game when he came on as he should have been on from the start to influence the game.

what i would like to see is an ability to change formation when a game isn't going to plan - we should have made changes to the team/formation at the break yet we come out after half time and continue to play the same way.

not too disheartened at result and position but i don't want us to lose any more ground with the top 3 when we have some tough fixtures coming up after Burnley.

Happy Clappers, How Dare You Doubt the gospel of the Reverand De Niro is preaching. All is well right now Hughes is doing a smashing job and we should all get behind him he needs another season and some big money signings in the January window to sort things out.

We have to look at the bigger picture.

Liverpool have been playing shite this season-rags have been playing shite for a season and a half and somehow still winning.
Arseanl blow hot and cold, spurs have Lennon and Defoe missing and get hammered....the only team that look above all the others in the top four is Chelsea. The rest of the league is the most open it's been for years.

We're fourth with a game in hand and players returning from injury-let's keep some perspective!
