well done hughes and well done city

We have to look at the bigger picture.

Liverpool have been playing shite this season-rags have been playing shite for a season and a half and somehow still winning.
Arseanl blow hot and cold, spurs have Lennon and Defoe missing and get hammered....the only team that look above all the others in the top four is Chelsea. The rest of the league is the most open it's been for years.

We're fourth with a game in hand and players returning from injury-let's keep some perspective!

Agree, although we can't use injuries as an excuse as other clubs have similar problems ( Spurs , Liverpool) and they'll be stronger too.

We are only going to get better & better as the season goes on....
You would hope so, but that hasn't been the case so far. In fact, we've been getting worse and worse the more time the players have had to gel with each other.

Obviously we're in a decent position, but the points tally from the last 4 games has been extremely disappointing and it's becoming a bit of a concern that our performances are actually going backwards. Nothing a couple of good wins won't sort out though.

True-but you also have to say that had our perfectly good goal against Fulham not been disallowed, and the penalty been given yesterday for the rugby tackle on Tevez things would be a little clearer this morning...

The thing we haven't had this season is consistency to be able to play our best team week in-week out as soon as we can do that it is game on people

imo it is a little bit of "happy clapping" to be saying well done Hughes and well done City.

of course lying 4th is good news but considering we had 15 points from first 6 games then to have only picked up 4 draws from last 4 games is rather disappointing.

if we had played decent football yesterday to come away with a point then all well and good however we were dreadful and never looked like creating chances which all in all is not "well done".

i am more concerned with the pattern of our play and the fact that 4-4-2 with Barry and De Jong in the middle is still not working as once again there was no-one carrying the ball through the middle to link up with the forwards - it is harsh to say Stevie didn;t have an impact on the game when he came on as he should have been on from the start to influence the game.

what i would like to see is an ability to change formation when a game isn't going to plan - we should have made changes to the team/formation at the break yet we come out after half time and continue to play the same way.

not too disheartened at result and position but i don't want us to lose any more ground with the top 3 when we have some tough fixtures coming up after Burnley.

can't argue with this post.

Yes, 4th in the table, league cup quarter finalist, but above all for me, right now, we are the hardest team in the league to beat. I will repeat that, after 10/11 games, we are the hardest team in the league to beat. Well done Mark Hughes.

Happy Clappers, How Dare You Doubt the gospel of the Reverand De Niro is preaching. All is well right now Hughes is doing a smashing job and we should all get behind him he needs another season and some big money signings in the January window to sort things out.

wrong, he wont get another season if this one goes pear shaped, and rightly so. with the january window and 5 more months to play he will have had all the chances he deserves or needs.i said from the very start that this coming xmas will be judgement time, depending on where we are he'll get funds to finish the job, if he gets 10m he's a gonner in summer, 50m means he's here long term.fairs fair by may if this squad has'nt achieved something, not progress, actually achieved a top 4 finish or a cup the manager will have failed us.if that happens the new man is on a winner though, the foundations are there for all to see, hughes has tidied up our club from top to bottom, it was run like a car boot sale till he walked in the place.
back on the pitch i hate the formation he is using, its costing us points left right and centre in my opinion, however we have to be pleased that we are where we are, had he gone gung ho and played it the way bluemoon want it played we could well be mid table, that would do us or him no good whatsever.me the optimist would say at least try it ffs we could be top now:)

but thats me.

Sack the manager cos in the few games he has had to work with his new squad he hasn't produced a side as instantly good as two of the long-established top teams in Europe and it's already the beginning of November. He's only managed to get us right on their coat-tails with a team that can clearly improve and perform better than it is doing now in our lowly 4th place spot.
