Well done Hughes

You make it sound as if we went into this match as red hot favourites. We were away to Liverpool, for crying out loud. We were never expected to walk all over them on their own patch.

We played like a team that didn't think they should be going to places like Anfield and outplaying them from the outset.

It's a mentality that needs to change.

And kin villa getting beat at burnley with a team that has been together at least 2 years ,that what some of the get hughes out mob dont realise it takes more than money to build a team.
Did you notice the body language around the team today looking good i am confident we will finish top 4 especially when you see the teams above us losing loads of games ,we have lost 1 and we have played 3 of the so called top 4 .

After the goal he shown us the kind of tacticl awareness we have been saying he hasnt got. We needed to make a change and imo he made the right one, the easy choice would be to take off DeJong and go for another attacker. Once he brought on Tevez i didnt see anyone but us winning that game.

I have no idea how you can class 'not making the wrong decision' as tactical awareness?

Barry had been poor, de Jong had been excellent - to even consider making a de Jong for Tevez change at that point would have been lunacy, and even I don't think Hughes is a lunatic.

Just an average manager.

Tevez HAD to come on and a DM HAD to come off - there was only one serious option and he took it. Jesus, if that is what we are praising managers for these days we are easily pleased (or just finding it difficult to find any genuine excuse to praise our current incumbent)

Hopefully it is a mindset that will now change. We were by far the better team and the players should be disappointed that they could not close the game out at 2-1.

The thing that really annoyed me today, is for that period when we did show that mentality we looked so much better. Passing the ball to feet, movement on and off the ball. I don't expect us to be able to do it for 90 minutes, but it was if we didn't even put our foot on the accelerator until we went 1-0 down.

I agreee, just got back and first half we were slow, disinterested and took their goal (as so often is the case this season) to remind us that we were allowed to attack.

Liverpool were awfull, they were there for the taking, i honestly we have a better squad and with Torres out and Gerrard walking wounded we really should have taken all three points today.

Tevez showed myself and many other doubters what he's about, and i think Hughes got everything spot on again today. I'd try Onuoha at RB and Komapny CB if Toure is injured next game.

Come on Sunderland winning lets ave it , Wenger out won fook all in 4 years and losing to sunderland s B team , hughes is a legend in comparison.............lol.lol;lol

Don't get it. He hasn't got it and isn't going to suddenly get it. It's blindingly obvious.

We are in serious danger of fucking up the greatest opportunity we will ever have by NOT changing the manager because we previous regimes have changed too often, and that my friends is the definition of 'typical City'. And the wheel keeps on turning...

Chelsea booted Ranieri after finishing second. Didn't do them any harm.

The fans lack of ambition for the club is staggering. Nowhere but at Man City could the fans of the world's richest club accept (and fucking defend) a manager with no track record who is delivering disappointing results.

Can you imagine Hughes being given a similar opportunity at ANY other club with such resources than Man City? Are the likes of Real, Inter, Barca, even Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea beating a path to our door for his services whenever jobs become available there?

Are they fuck. Get rid.

Sums up my feelings perfectly

Great post.Best ive read by far.

Easy after the match. What is the backing for Tevez had to come on and a DM had to come off? Especially when Barry is a player able to go forward, expand his passing game forward and in a measure able to link up defense to attack.

Wright-Philipps was poor and not doing the job. Him for Tevez could have gotten success.

What are the arguments then at the moment of the game and not retrospectively?
