Well done Hughes

Hugues showed his stature.

He decided to bench the £47M player Tevez, a very hard decision.

The team was well-positioned and managed to press decently and play time by time possession football.

It is obvious this side has troubles when stake is on and usually underplay.

As soon as the team was led, the pressure was off and better football was performed.

Touré went off and Onuoha went in. The latter did not start well and he was involved in the two goals.

Hugues brought in Tevez instead of Barry when many would have removed Wright Philipps. It was a decisive substitution, showing Hugues wanted to come back to winning ways. Especially as Wright-Philipps started to perform much better. With putting one fresh man on the pitch, Hugues earned his side two men.

The real disgrace happened when City conceded on the kick off following them gaining the lead, once again underlying pressure issues within this squad.

The issue was beyond Hugues managerial influence as it was not possible for him to order anything between the 2-1 goal and the 2-2 goal.

The question is to determine what Hugues can do to solve that pressure issue as it is not the first time City relinquished a lead and started to play poor football as soon as they led.

I think its a bit harsh too blame Zaba for both goals. Was a needless free kick, but ade was the wrong side of Skertle.

The second, was lucky too come across the box, and maybe he could have got a foot too it if he streched, but if he did, right in front of goal, with no control, an og was on the cards.

Thought we were good too day.

Lescott, De Jong, Ireland and Tevez were the best performers.

Totally inaccurate! some excellent moves today, we were away at Anfield you know!

Agree about Zab switching off but Ned really should have cleared it out of the box when he had the chance.

All in all a decent performance and yet again i'm at a loss to understand the negativity on this board, it's fooking unbelievable!

Ok sorry, I could have swore we spent all 1st half and all but 20 mins of 2nd half hoofing it.
Once again sorry.

Not saying the first half wasn't poor or that we did play it long at times, but there was also some great play second half! ypur post read as though we played long all game and did nothing else, which quite simply is wrong, and doesn't apply to any game since Hughes arrived! this long ball merchant shite is a complete myth!

If at the end of the season City have won nothing and nowhere near the top 4 then get rid but not now.

And then at the end of the season the tune will change to 'Let's give him until Christmas and see where we are...'

And then at Christmas it will be 'let's give him until the end of the season...'

Don't get it. He hasn't got it and isn't going to suddenly get it. It's blindingly obvious.

We are in serious danger of fucking up the greatest opportunity we will ever have by NOT changing the manager because we previous regimes have changed too often, and that my friends is the definition of 'typical City'. And the wheel keeps on turning...

Chelsea booted Ranieri after finishing second. Didn't do them any harm.

The fans lack of ambition for the club is staggering. Nowhere but at Man City could the fans of the world's richest club accept (and fucking defend) a manager with no track record who is delivering disappointing results.

Can you imagine Hughes being given a similar opportunity at ANY other club with such resources than Man City? Are the likes of Real, Inter, Barca, even Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea beating a path to our door for his services whenever jobs become available there?

Are they fuck. Get rid.

Hughes got the tactics right today.

We stifled them first half and kept the crowd quiet and in the second half we always looked likely to create something. The substitution came at the right time and the right player was taken off.

If Ned had put the Ball in Row Z like he should have done I am sure we would have got a third and the Spanish Waiter could have been looking for a new Job on Monday.

I would like to see him get out of his seat though.
why? just for appearances sake? i prefer substance over style personally, couldnt give a fuck if the manager is sat down or jumping around in the technical area as long as he makes the correct decisions.

And if anything, it gets on the player's nerves, or at least it used to when Pearce was manager.
Standing on the touch line screaming 'kick the ball' to professional footballers is bound to annoy.
