Easy after the match. What is the backing for Tevez had to come on and a DM had to come off? Especially when Barry is a player able to go forward, expand his passing game forward and in a measure able to link up defense to attack.
Wright-Philipps was poor and not doing the job. Him for Tevez could have gotten success.
What are the arguments then at the moment of the game and not retrospectively?
Pisspoor argument. You have no idea what I was thinking during the match and there is no point discussing it.
We had two DMs on and were a goal down. Taking off either an attacking winger or the better of our two DMs would have been a terrible decision in the circumstances.
Barry has been struggling for weeks and I doubt anyone thought he was going to suddenly burst into life and start marauding forward.
The only logical change was Tevez for Barry - if you didn't think so during the game and only do now 'retrospectively' then that's your problem, not mine.
Trying to pass it off as managerial genius (or even just nouse) is some serious straw clutching IMO.
