agreed with Matty, if he was such a negative influence then why didnt the performance improve against WBA when he wasnt even on the team coach? and he didnt whine to the press about playing he said he wanted to play and hughes offered him no explanations when he wasnt in the team after putting in good performances or scoring goals this season.

It's not just a case of being a negative influence when your there, it runs deeper than that.

Elano looks to be leaving us after Hughes apparently accused him of trying to get him sacked ..... even to the point of the player of doing little in training ....... seems like a parting of the ways is ineveitable.

Robinho's just bought a new car , and a new house in Alderley Edge , so it's looks as though he's still interested in staying here ..... at least for the time being anyway!

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/318822381?-1808" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/318822381?-1808</a>

As for JO ....... a loan deal to Everton (or anybody else) could do both him , and the club , a world of good ........ it's just not working out for him here at the moment , and if anything , he's trying too hard ...... he needs a break from us , one way or the other!

Mark Hughes simply has to go on believing that he can get it right ..... whther he actually had much of a hand himself in signing ANY of the Brazilians is debateable ...... but he's got to do what's right for the club ...... if he allows himself to be dragged into personal vendettas with any of his players he's on a loser , no player or manager is BIGGER than the club ........ he has to learn from the likes of Fergie and Wenger.

Great post!

Re: Elano causing trouble???

Regardless of what ever so called theories there are about Elano his is a qaulity player and he has more than proven this last season. Furthermore a good player of his undoubted does not turn him into a bad player over night.

The problem with Elano is simple Mark Hughes and his poor management skills. As Brian Clough once said some players need cuddle where as others need a bollockin to get the best out of him. With Hughes its always the latter no matter which player it is. After all his mentor being bacon face its not suprising to see why he is like this.

I can accept that with some players Hughes has had a positive efffect Ireland is clearly evident of that. How long is it Robinho is blubbing to the news papers for cut price exit once his friends Elano and Jo are bundled out of the door once the slapped arse Hughes gets his way.

Re: Elano causing trouble???

Ive posted this before, but it is important to understand the lines of communication. Elano spoke out because he was not getting any feedback from Hughes. Still no excuse but understandable.

Mark Hughes It’s a consequence of the job I do. I’m not as accessible as you because of the demands on my time. I’m doing other things, so players don’t have that access to me anyway. That’s not artificially created, but on the field of play I think it’s important that you have that distance. You can’t have friendships with players, you need respect and trust. I think I get that trust by making sure the coaches and the people I have working with them are top quality.

Re: Elano causing trouble???

Funny how this lad is revered like there is no better player out there. I suppose we need to make do with him and his stroppy attitude, as skint as we are....

.....oh.....

Is everyone of the opinion that Jo and Elano (and I think Robinho, although no one want to admit it because he's so good) are putting themselves before the club and trying to undermine Hughes?

Or are you swinging more towards the idea that a manager is not very good at his job if he manages to alienate several of his players?

If he'd been more diplomatic then I don't think it would have come to this, but maybe he thinks that there has to be a confrontation to assert himself as the top dog early on, lay down the law etc.

If it was Mourinho doing this (and that's his style) I don't think anyone would be complaining.

No it's not! Mourinho is excellent at treating players as individuals & adjusting his style to what is required by each of them. You only have to look at what his players thought of him.

maybe if you asked crespo, shevchenko, pizzaro, kezman, tiago, jiri jarosik, Khalid Boulahrouz,
maniche, ben haim, steve sidwell, lassana Diarra and S W P, just some of the players he had, and
either did not work out or just flopped under Mourinho. he can make mistakes
