Wembley desire

been to every visit at the new wembley, including spurs for league games. We have been decent at times, and atrocious at others, Our turn outs v Liverpool and Brighton in the semi finals were disappointing to say the least, but the pricing is horrific, especially if you have kids and the crap concession prices.

It’ll happen one day but a cup final v the rags will be an absolute nightmare.

The novelty wore off for me when we began to dominate the League Cup. Attending became an expensive chore.

I got over it but the Wigan FA Cup loss haunted me. To the day, I’ve never seen the highlights.

No point there wasn't any.

I'm sure most of us agree that having FA cup semi finals there is a joke, but we're stuck with it, and it's no fault of the club.
How demoralising it must be for our great team to come out at wembley only to see our end half full and our opponents end jam packed.
I know we've been there more times than anyone in the last 12 years which means some of our fans have become a bit spoilt. These good times won't last forever so we should make the most of every visit. I don't like lining the FA pockets either, but supporting City outweighs it.
Great post pal, my thoughts are exactly the same.
As the old saying goes - " Nothing lasts forever".
It could happen that we don't get to Wembley again for 30 years.
Treat it as though it is a pilgrimage to a holy place.
Fans of most other teams in the football pyramid would love to have the chance to get to Wembley that City fans have had over the past 12 years.

Been to all the games at the new Wembley with us apart from 2 CS games.

It is a bit of a mare to get to but a bit of planning....coach full of beer to Wealdstone, tube in & out, then a couple there & coach home works well...it's a fucking long day tho.

These days I now stay at my lads near Oxford and train it in & out.

The problem with the FA Cup semis is we play 2nd string players who cost us, Garcia and Mendy 2020, Steffen 2021 & 2022, Bravo 2017 (he had just got his league place back though then but 2nd best to Willy). You can't expect fans to turn out if the team doesn't as it isn't a priority for the manager.

Does that include SEMI-FINALS?

You have a point about finals.

But semi-finals! The FA are taking the piss and have done ever since they moved the semi-finals to Wembley to rinse the fans even more. I won’t mention the Community Shield.

Wether you like it or not, call me what you want, I won’t give the FA my money for semi-finals at Wembley. They’re just ripping me and other City fans off. There’s nothing wrong with Old Trafford, a 60,000+ Anfield next season, or good old Villa Park for a semi-final.
It won't happen but with the higher capacity of several stadia, new and existing, being increased in recent years plus the current and future expansion of those such as Anfield and potentially Villa Park would make a semi-final on a league ground an incredible occasion. City would have no problem selling 30000 anywhere in England north of Wembley and might still do it at Arsenal or Spurs

A final v the rags should be brilliant...a win would be another record after the semi win.

It'll happen,bring it on !!

It would be a nightmare and total carnage off the field. Trouble everywhere and toxic as hell. Sadly I believe right at this moment they'd beat us on the field too.

The new Wembley might not have the nostalgia of the old Wembley, but the old Wembley was old and the facilities were outdated, the new Wembley is good I don't see a huge problem as stadia go, yes its a rip off agree, but when we talk about the surrounding area its not good, but other Towns and Cities are no different, I don't know what any of this has got to do with going, If City get to a semi-final everyone should want to go, last seasons semi-final was poorly supported, we couldn't sell our tickets, and it affected our support that day, the lads who went hats off, but those who didn't, because of this that and the other ?????????????.
You don't have to get ripped off if you are careful, and watch where you drink and eat, and travel buy coach with local supporters clubs etc. Again this is about Desire, going to wembley means we are successful, I want to go as many times as possible, being proud to wear my colours with lots of other blues, and shout like fuck and hope we win, Wembley Desire, am in.

You won’t see change from a ton.

You can’t expect people not to eat or drink.

Most people leave early morning and get home late at night in the early hours.

Food and drink isn’t cheap at the services, both ways, around Wembley, and inside Wembley.

Then add ticket prices which have constantly risen, coach travel which is more expensive now, the cost of petrol and diesel, parking, and the tube.

Why was the semi- final poorly supported? Because people are sick of going to a semi- final at Wembley and being ripped off. Great if you live in London or North London. For the rest of us in the North it’s shit!
