Wasn't really watching, but looked to me like there were plenty of empty seats in the sections by the halfway line?
Correct. There was.
Wasn't really watching, but looked to me like there were plenty of empty seats in the sections by the halfway line?
My first visit was 1974, never missed a final, semi-final since, or CS. I don't get this mamby pamby, not going because of this that and the other, fuck me we used to dream of going to Wembley, what the fuck are up with people, City at Wembley I will always be there, I was pissed off yesterday and certainly can't wait to get back. Shit nearly 50 years since that first trip, FOC.
The atmosphere has got less and less in the City end over the years. When you think back to the Rags and Stoke as the high points, and the continual drop off ever since.
There is such a naivety even innocence to the rags. They never seem to have moved on from the seventies, believing they can walk about chanting and throwing their chests out and everyone will be scared of them. They seem oblivious that they are looked at not with fear but contempt or even pity. They are astonished when they get hit as not expecting to fight they often shit out and dissappear. Think this applys more to out of towers than Manchester and Salford rags. Red scousers similar but nastier. We stopped at a service station on the M40 and when I went inside it was a sea of blue, with an occasional red shirt dotted in and not a hint of trouble
I grabbed two coffees, walked out just as a coach load of rags had turned up, so I had to walk past them holding these two drinks
I looked st them, they looked at me and we all knew what they wanted to do, but they also knew that if they did, someone was going to get fucking clobbered
Anyway they strolled into the services singing their nursery rhymes and a couple of minutes later they were getting absolutely battered
One, next to his bus shouted at a City fan, who looked quite handy, "fucking come on then" so he did. The rag ended up backwards in some bushes
And as their coach left it got pelted with missiles
It was a good day out for me (thanx x ) but it isnt half a dump behind the scenesI don’t like it or enjoy it. Will be watching on the telly if we get there this season.
Yep it wouldCould happen this season, and as you say would be an absolute nightmare a final v them, not just there, but all the way there and all the way back as well
Yes every game, semi-finals, Charity Shield, and FM Final, it's a big day, big game for all of us. I would prefer the semi-finals to be played at a neutral ground, but it's not going to happen any time soon. Everyone is different but I dreamed of going to Wembley as a kid and still do, it's a great day out regardless, and I go to support City as they need our backing, the semi final last year was a let down not only on the pitch but off it, so many lads I know who couldn't be bothered to turn up, that disappointed me more than the result. This thread is about our desire, LET'S start showing it again.Does that include SEMI-FINALS?
You have a point about finals.
But semi-finals! The FA are taking the piss and have done ever since they moved the semi-finals to Wembley to rinse the fans even more. I won’t mention the Community Shield.
Wether you like it or not, call me what you want, I won’t give the FA my money for semi-finals at Wembley. They’re just ripping me and other City fans off. There’s nothing wrong with Old Trafford, a 60,000+ Anfield next season, or good old Villa Park for a semi-final.
