Educated guess based on what?

We're £5 million or so ahead of spurs, you said if they add £50 million you predict we'd still beat them. Where is our extra £45 million realistically going to come from?

Additional sponsorships.

As far as I can fathom since the figures that Deloitte is using were pulled together City have signed deals with

Malmaison
Jaguar
ADTA

There are also going to be more that will be included in the next set of figures.

Perhaps even a naming rights deal?

Not a chance those sponsorship deals are going to amount to anywhere near £45 million

The timing of the naming rights deal is going to be very important. If they did it now they wouldn't get the maximum out of it, cos we're on the up and in a couple of years time we might have champions league football and a trophy or two, which would strengthen our hand

Obv there would be triggers set off in the contract, if and when that happens.

Yes but that's assuming we'd get the best offer in the first place, which is unlikely. There will no doubt be more people interested in throwing more money at us if we become more successful, we're still a bit of a gamble at the moment

Look at it on the reverse, maybe a big company senses the potential, and feels they want to get in early to build a close well knit and lasting association with the club.

We'd probably already have naming rights if that was the case. There's always the chance of it but I'd imagine that we'd get better offers if/when we get champs league and become more successful. Maybe we're just waiting til the end of the season when the rules kick in or maybe we're waiting for other things that I don't know about? Whatever the weather I'm pretty sure we'll be getting naming rights at some point within the next few years

I am NOT going to argue with you about the value of the deals I listed.

Certainly not the ones with Malmaison or Jag' but I would ask serious questions about how anyone values the deals with the 'home' deals.

The strength of City's financial position for the next few years is directly and inextricably linked to the owners own investments and those of businesses that have links to HH Sheikh Mansour.

Have a quick peep at the financial statements of Aabar or simply look here -

http://www.aabar.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=21&Itemid=20&lang=en

To get a sense of the huge network of companies that City now have access to.

So what does the Aabar deal work out at? It may well be £50m on its own - fair market value questions then get asked I suppose but mean little of nothing as what is it worth to people sucking up to City?

I deliberately didnt say 'fair' market value as there is no such thing where City are concerned.

Then lets drop ADTA into the reckoning

http://www.abudhabitourism.ae/en/Default.aspx

What is the worth to AD in getting the name all across the globe?

There has also been a naming rights deal for Carrington that was surely done to offer an indication of the broader naming rights deal that is to be announced at some point?

These deals are loss leaders for AD businesses and they will continue to quietly and privately build massive revenues for City.

I'd still be astounded if those deals amounted to £45 million, even if they were 'friendy'. But I suppose we'll have to wait and see, so I'll see you this time next year when the figures are out fbloke ;-)

Fantastic news and so so sad that sky sports and the sun are so shit scared they try to turn it into a negative ha!!
