To win the title. Excellent point today keeps us tucked in there. Oh sorry, puts us on top of the league. Well done blues and all the fans that went and backed the team.
with the Rags a league game in hand.
Anyone that sincerely claims we're top of the league, just on a small GD alone, with the Rags an easy home game in hand, is an idiot.
To be fair, we are currently top of the Premier League. United do have a game in hand and our lead is slender but we are still top of the Premier League.
I expect Fulham to go to Old Trafford tomorrow and leave with arses redder than the sun but anything can happen in football. Just ask Steve Kean.
As I said in a post somewhere else on the forum, for some reason I have a feeling that United will be seriously tested tomorrow. This is unusual for me as I usually expect them to bully the opposition into submission when they're at home, but I just have a slight feeling. I've had it once more this season, and it was when they lost at home to Blackburn. Before the game, I thought United would be looking at 6 or 7, but as soon as Blackburn scored, and as early as the third minute, I knew it was a lead that wouldn't be relinquished.
Top and bottom of it is, without bias, they're a footballing equivalent of the school bully. Will take all kinds of liberties on the pitch, until you stand up against them. Teams don't even have to play spectacularly to beat them, but look at the teams that have beaten us this year, and how they had to play to do it; Everton, Swansea and Sunderland submitted tremendously out-of-character performances to defeat us. Why, I couldn't tell you, as they are all teams that seem to have a history of bending over backwards to give the 3 points to them. Everton totally forget how much they hate Mancs until they play us, Swansea did ok against them but still submitted a better show against us, and it didn't help that we weren't our best...but Sunderland (and I STRONGLY dislike them for this) have a long and glorious history of giving Utd easy points. Its usually due to their manager, Elephant Boy Bruce always loved giving them an easy ride, and even this year when Utd were at their worst and defeatable by perhaps even a top Championship side like Southampton or Reading, Sunderland gave Utd the win at OT courtesy of a Wes Brown OG.
Don't be surprised to see Fulham attempt to park the bus and get a 0-0, or a hard-fought 1-1, where both could have won it. I just can't see them having it simple tomorrow.
