Do you see either one as a future replacement for Lampard?
While Sneijder is logically better to take over from Lampard (they do fulfil similar roles with Sneijder being more creative but Lampard netting more goals per season) I think Modric is the better idea. Modric plays deeper and would therefore improve our squad without taking game time away from Josh McEachran (who I feel is a good bet to replace Lampard) and is also an academy player. If we got Sneijder that'd hinder his development significantly because he'll be starting for top teams for a few years yet.okstate99 said:Thanks for the reply. And I quite agree.

If the people in charge have come to the same conclusions on this as I (and most Chelsea fans) have then I suspect we'll only go for Sneijder if Modric absolutely cannot be prised away from 3 point Lane.

With the potential signing of Sanchez as well, who knows if Nigel might be pushing himself out of the door a bit. Would we truly need two dmids with their possession? When it comes down to one d-mid I'm going with Yaya even though I love de Jong
