He certainly has gone too far the other way. Any thought of defeat brings on trepidation it seems. He's a stubborn individual with a mindset of playing in a certain way. But recently the risk element of his tactical approach has disappeared and he's become stubborn about it. See the way takes him so long to use subs.
What happened to the " we wanna play" attitude in the centurion season? A certain amount of risk was part of his repertoire. Now it's gone completely as you imply .

A manager sets the tone. Our tone right now is lethargy and that’s a massive worry considering Pep’s main attraction is high intensity.

The team started the game like they'd passed round half a dozen spliffs in the dressing room. We should be starting games with a high tempo, to much sideways passing, lethargic movement up front, nobody taking chances, it's all to safe, like robots doing a job. Sergio is our GOAT, but of the others:

Dzeko - 189 apps, 72 goals
Tevez - 148 apps, 73 goals
Balotelli - 80 apps, 30 goals

Jesus - 161 apps, 71 goals. And Jesus will have the better strike rate due to so many of those appearances being cameos off the bench. So your “zero goal threat” striker compares very well to those names. And he’s only 23.
