Re: Why wasn't Shane Long sent off for his celebration?

Because Twatenburg was the ref. Simples.

Thought they were allowed if the shirt didn't go over your head.

I'll put my query to you. How come Lukaku isn't getting starts? He looks up for it. Also I think your club will do well and with some investment can do spectacularly under Clarke.

He's still incredibly raw and doesn't have the impact in the game that Shane Long has. He's started well don't get me wrong but the hard work of Shane Long gives us a better platform to attack sides. Add to that, Long is currently doing the business which puts him down in the pecking order.

He did well when he came on today though. I shall give him that. Thought we'd managed an equaliser but some how it was cleared off the line.

He's a 'look at me' ref.

No arguments with the sending off but when Kompany is constantly barrcaking a ref, you know something is amiss.

Likes blowing his whistle, slowing the game down and showing the players who's boss.

IMHO he was poor but nothing compared to previous seasons

He's a prima donna for sure but I thought he got all the contentious decisions right. It was a red for Milner, last man, clear run on goal, the other defender wasn't getting there. Vinny's error cost us a red but not many players except Milner would've been covering their CB so I am grateful he was there albeit a fraction late. Clattenburg was fair to both teams. Similiar fouls got the same punishment for each side. That's the way he is.

I was listening to final 10 minutes in the car outside tescos lol the euphoria when Edin put that first goal in was only surpassed by him slotting home the second. It must gave looked to all the shoppers walking by like I was having sex in the car, the car was rocking back and forth because i was celebrating that much. Only city could make you feel so low and then so high. I love being a blue

Yet again the clamor will start for Edin to be starting, but while he keeps doing it like this, we'll stick with things as they are, but can we have Aguerro starting and Mario as a possible sub.

The thing is that when Edin does start, he doesn't seem to cut it to the same extent. He's probably going to get a starting slot on Wednesday (with Aguerro?), won't deliver and will be back on the subs bench next weekend. It might hurt to be a supersub, but it's still bloody effective.

milners hard work at getting back may have been one of the main factos behind our win he stopped them from scoring tbh

Can an argument be made to start with both or would that disrupt your play too much?

I think I might have preferred them possibly scoring than going down to 10.

I think a "message" is different.
Tevez was never booked for his celebrations.

As long as the shirt doesn't go over your head, or you don't take it off, then it's not a yellow.

It's amazing. Your fans at the end singing that was superb. Felt like joining in.

Got home with my wee brother. Both started chanting it doing the actions for like five minutes haha!

Yep, I'm sure he didn't mind though.

The shirt lifting rule is a pointless rule in my opinion

Its to maintain football's political neutrality Players are aware of the situation so if they get booked they only have themselves to blame. However refs only book players for lifting shirt over head or removing it Tevez was warned that if he persisted it lifting his shirt they he would be subject to a fine
