West Ham (A) Post Match Thread

So many talking points in that game, madness re var. That third goal that was disallowed really fucked me off as it was a thing of beauty, a hands width ffs, going to be absolutely shit isn't it?. Motm for me was Laporte, didn't put a foot wrong, Stetling was great second half so so first. Amazing result for the first game of the season, normal service resumed.

The goal that was given looked more offside than the one that wasn't.
I don't actually know if either of the decisions were correct or not.
The penalty was a good spot by VAR, although the keeper would still have saved it had he stayed on the line and rice would still have got to the ball first so that went in our favour.
Thought the last goal could have been pulled back for a foul

How do you know if rice would have got to the ball first ?
Is he rapid.

Great start against a team I honestly see getting in top 8.

On paper this was really tough start but when we settled down it was all 1 way for me.

1st half wasn't great, players loosing balls but once the 3rd went in after Ederson great double save it could & should have been 6-7.

Disagree with a few on here about MOM even tjough he had an outstanding 2nd Half & hatrick for me his 1st half was poor.
I thought Walker & Mahrez were outstanding all game & I would have given it to Riyad.

Rodri in the end looked very good & will get sharper in the next few weeks going to be interesting how Dino fits back in.

Just look at that bench it's frightening this squad of player, as a City fan I feel so fucking happy, 5-0 1st game knocking those thieving c.... off the top once again.

Nice to see Jesus given the nod thought he looked good.

Big game next week can't wait.

The fact people are talking about several VAR decisions shows how shit it is.

I was all for it, but not so convinced. Maybe it's teething problems, maybe it's our officials who are incapable of using it.

The penalty was retaken because a Hammer (Declan Rice?) had encroached, simple breach of the law.
Yes it was deffo the corect decision. I just think that the outcome would have been the same had the keeper been on his line and rice hadn't encroached.

Standard stuffing. Well played blues. You’re just in a totally different league to us - so I won’t criticise us too much.
Thought you were full of activity early doors, but created nothing in the end of it. Your high pressure worked well...until we got up to match speed and started finding the holes, then we were off to the races. The Ederson saves kept the game from getting a bit fractured, because it kept the2 goal gap, as opposed to making it one and possibly turning the tide with the crowd, who got up for it after the brilliant 3rd “goal” was chalked off for Sterlings armpit being offside!

No one is going to look forward to going to WHU this season.
