West Ham (A) Post Match Thread

Some of the best goals this season, will be written off.

Offside was designed to improve the game, not ruin it. They even had it in the law, to allow daylight between players, to try & achieve that.

How the fuck you can go from that, to disallowing a goal on a centimetre, is typical of the fucking wankers in charge of the sport. You can't even be sure the ball wasn't kicked, between frames.

Daylight was never in the law.

Rodri is going to be one hell of a player for us.
Once he adapts to the speed of play in the PL he will be a monster.
When he has the ball at his feet he reminds me of Yaya...v calm and looks like the big kid in the playground who the other kids can’t get the ball off.
He clearly has great vision and weight of pass of either foot.
Brilliant signing!
There was one time he swivelled with one on them on his back and totally opened up the play for us.
Actually, at times, WHU were very good.
Their new centre forward is going to cause all sorts of trouble against the rest of the league

Just to keep it real, Sergio’s first penalty was terrible. It was was weak and way too close to the keeper. Yes, Fabianski was off his line, but it was still a shocker by Sergio and he did miss. I think the retake was more down to encroachment rather than the keeper being off his line.
The encroachment rule has been around a long time but it looks like VAR may finally start enforcing it.
Though it didn't for Aguero at Spurs last season when the defender who blocked the rebound shot was inside the box before he hit it.

Agree, was a very weak shot, but the retake was due to the new ruling that at least one of the goalie's feet should step on the line, disadvantage el Kun.
Worry not, Sergio'll do well.

Actually there is point to be made about using a frame by frame view.
Since it is recorded at only 25 full frames per second it is possible to pick two successive frames that contradict each other when decisions are very close. In other words unless recorded by slow mo cameras accurate decisions on very close calls are there to be manipulated.

Absolutely.
