West Ham (H) - Post-Match Thread

I think this is more of an issue in the big Champs League games against the likes of Bayern Liverpool or Chelsea when things are tight.
Against West Ham if we’d not scored the second I think we would have seen the game out differently and totally closed it down

You might be right but at 1-0 and time running out the opposition thinks, fuck it I night as well have a shot, in it goes and it's points dropped. Our wingers and midfield chip in with a fair few goals but we need that 20+ goal a season striker.

Yeah fair point

I hope Pep is reading this thread

Getting the "Right" one is the problem.

Only the board and Pep will currently know who we think that the right fit is. We the fans I suspect majoritively think it's Haaland but that might not be so. Do we act in January? Do we go for an interim striker? I think not but don't know.

Some blues are reticent to trust the board based on our "failure" to land a striker to replace Sergio last summer. My thoughts are that we know who we wanted (maybe 2 choices) and thats a very small list these days but either cost or availability or both prevented that happening.
All will be revealed in the fullness of time.

But I thought we regularly got 30,000 plus even when we got relegated twice. That 8,000 crowd must have been exceptional. I certainly don't remember it.
I think there was only one crowd in just four figures 8015. It was a bitterly cold cold day on November l think.
Swindon had a right dirty get in one Mike Summerbee who was destined for greater things.
Alan Oakes goal will be remembered by anyone who went and was always good way of catching out the 50000 who later claimed to be there in York away fashion.

i think the west ham goal was more of a lack of concentration, one minute left and 2 nil up players where ore looking towards the tunnel. Even though, pep will have gone mad for not staying focussed.

The striker issue isnt as big a problem as we make out, dont get me wrong it would be good to have a more recognised striker but how we are is actually fine. It gives us strength in other areas having the extra attacking midfield line. We seem to think a striker would be banging in 2 goals a game, wouldnt be the case though, also i dont see many pep strikers about to buy. Haaland is going on like a soap.

West Ham fans on their forum claiming Dias should've been sent off for what was a yellow card tackle at best. Boring as fuck that.

Usually like them but they've been very bitter about this game.
