Anyone who watched the rugby at Murrayfield yesterday will see why the game should be called off in wind like this.

Fucking awful as a spectacle, a complete lottery of a game and god forbid we end up losing this place will be in full meltdown demanding to know why it wasn't called off.

The above pales into insignificance when we start to talk about the safety of 55K fans trying to get to the game in such shit and dangerous weather.

the game will go ahead just so the media and sky can criticise the fans for empty seats.

If you get the rain we've had since midday yesterday (and it is supposed to be heading east), I'll be surprised if the game goes ahead. It's just nearly stopped now, but it was a solid 18 hours of heavy (at times, biblical) rain along with severe gusts of wind. I know the pitch drains very well, but what about the stands and the areas outside the turnstiles? And there's the risk of debris being flung around by the wind.

So pretty much a standard day for Northern Rail!

The weather here on the Fylde coast right now is no worse than unpleasant and we normally get the worst of any storms coming over the Atlantic, if I was going to a local game I'd be more concerned about the amount of rain than the wind. I can't believe it's that much worse 35/40 miles inland.
Glorious on St Anne's beach yesterday, only sorry I didn't take a kite !!
