Anyone who watched the rugby at Murrayfield yesterday will see why the game should be called off in wind like this.

Fucking awful as a spectacle, a complete lottery of a game and god forbid we end up losing this place will be in full meltdown demanding to know why it wasn't called off.

The above pales into insignificance when we start to talk about the safety of 55K fans trying to get to the game in such shit and dangerous weather.

was crazy

If you get the rain we've had since midday yesterday (and it is supposed to be heading east), I'll be surprised if the game goes ahead. It's just nearly stopped now, but it was a solid 18 hours of heavy (at times, biblical) rain along with severe gusts of wind. I know the pitch drains very well, but what about the stands and the areas outside the turnstiles? And there's the risk of debris being flung around by the wind.
You have the internet, Use it. Metoffice website, manchester City fc.

Weather in Manchester is nothing bad. Yes it's currently gusting 40/50, but by K.O. it's 20/25.

Here in the east of England we are 65/70 and the next 3 days is averaging 40/50!

If I remember correctly for the Sunderland game, I originally set off at lunchtime and got to Sheffield before thinking I can't be bothered and returned to Lincoln feeling I'd made a good decision. Later in the afternoon my pal rang and said he was still going so temptation got the better of me and I and 3 others set off again. We got as far as Huddersfield when we heard the game was off. We couldn't even get off the M62 for over 30 minutes to even turn around. The roads were like the opening scenes of the Walking Dead, with cars abandoned everywhere. Eventually home at 10pm after 2 aborted journeys to a game that never happened. IIRC that was a red weather warning and this at 65/70 in Lincoln is only amber. You lot in Manchester need to toughen up a bit more as you've obviously softened up of late.

The game will go ahead for sure but there will be thousands of empty seats sadly of which one will be mine as I've decided it's too windy LOL :-)
