West Ham Thread 14/15

I see BFS had the chance to sign Wilfred Bony last season, but turned it down so he could buy ''Wurlitzer Man'' instead;

Hmm; good choice Sam.

Bony is a class striker and finisher but I still believe Carrol when he's fit (not often) is one of the best target men in football, he's heading and chest control is world class and he is good on the ball, if he could finish better and stay injury free he would be so good.

I don't begrudge us paying that for him at all, he was a key factor in us staying up last year - our results dramatically improved when he played, he creates so much space for players around him - especially Nolan who reads the game so well, and now with the inclusion of Valencia and Sakho we don't have to rely on him so heavily.

Leaving for Upton Park in a min. Absolutly buzzing already ... Win today and we go 3rd. F*cking 3rd !!!

Come on youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu irons.

In the let's highlight this and be really wise after the event stakes....maybe Sam had a point?

Great win for West Ham yesterday against a good Swansea side.

Andy Carroll was brilliant and he's such a handful when he's fully fit. He was never worth £35 million, but he was superb at Newcastle and looks to be finding that form again at West Ham.

West Ham's set of strikers, Carroll, Sakho and Valencia, are quality and IMO they have a better set of strikers than Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton, Southampton and maybe even Arsenal.

Sakho must be up there with signing of the season. £3.5 million and he's got 7 goals in 9 games.

The key for West Ham this season will be injuries. Their first eleven is really strong, but they haven't got the squad depth in defence and midfield that the bigger clubs in the league have.

If West Ham are lucky with injuries, I don't think they'll be far away from the top 4 at all.

well done hammers. wont stay there but it makes great reading at present.

Totally agree. Always liked the Hammers and they seem to have a decent set of supporters. I watched the replay of the Swansea game and they played well. Although I didn't see Valencia. I take it he must be injured.

Im really trying my best not to get carried away! but will pull you up on this one - i'd say we do have the squad to compete - its the strongest ive known,

--------- Adrian --------------
Jussi

Jenkinson------Tomkins ------- Reid -------- Cresswell
Demel ------- Collins -------- Collins -------- O Brian
O Brian

---------- Alex Song ---------- Noble ------------
------------- Kayoute ---------- Amalfitano -----------
-------------------------- Poyet ---------------------------

Sakho ---------- Downing --------------- Valencia
Zarate ---------- K. Nolan ---------- Zarate
Jarvis ------------ Morrison --------------- Jarvis
----------------------------------------------------- Vaz Te

------------------------ Carrol ----------------------------------
--------------------- C. Cole ----------------------------------
---------------------- Sakho/Valencia --------------------------

We really do have a strong squad, where players can play in variety of posistions

I worry about our centre back situation, with big clubs sniffing around Reid at the moment. so we will need to strengthen there.
