West Ham Thread 2015/16

But without having the billions other clubs around us have, look how far they have taken us. They may talk bollocks but frankly they have worked absoulute wonders for this club

You're about to be given a 700m stadium for pratically free and another 100m loan from the taxpayer making all the retractable seating. The government is only getting 1m a year back for it. It would take centuries for them to get any money back.

If anything West Ham have had the biggest gift any club has had in the history of the game. City and Chelsea will have to pay back all their borrowings from their owners if they decide to cash out

Just a slight correction we don't owe anything to anyone as far as I understand, your point about the Olympic Stadium still stands it's a bad deal for football and the country

We pay Manchester council more than West Ham are going to, which given the geographical locations and the respective sizes of the stadiums when we moved into them, is ludicrous.

Not only that, the commercial deals West Ham will be able to do on the back of the Olympic stadium make it an even bigger windfall. No wonder Spurs fans are so bitter about it.

Oh ok, thanks for letting me know, I thought it was one of them interest free loans like Roman did, either way agree with what you said too!!

I'm not too fussed about them getting the stadium, it was better than becoming a potential white elephant but when West Ham fans still complain about Spurs fans complaining, or mention the billions of other clubs it's a bit hypocritical. No wonder the porn brothers and Brady don't want the exact details made to the public as the taxpayer and the rest of the league won't be happy. I can't wrap my head around how you're paying more, then again the government has always been shite to the north

I didnt mean you personally fella, but a lot of Spurs fans have been quite vocal about it, especially with the costs your club are going to incur for your new ground, quite understandable, after the farce that was the tendering process. The only thing that surprises me is the Arsenal fans arent complaining, they love harping on about money, thought this would give them a platform for a good moan about how well run they are and how it unfair it is after they have spent so much on the Emirates.

Arsenal fans will only start complaining if West Ham start threatening their top 4 position.

lol I didn't think you did mate, sorry if it sounded like I was being defensive. They'll complain soon enough (Arsenal fans), but with Liverpool and Spurs going to do their stadiums and Arsenal paying off theirs in the next 7-8 years (possibly) it's going to be some serious competition going on. Mind you I don't expect Spurs being a threat for 50 years, it's already been that long!!

those quotes by sullivan were insane ,"we set out to win 4 cups ,ok we might be out of 2 (well it is the end of oct)but we can win the double"what kind of insane logic is that,i like many blues like west ham as a club ,but those 3 people at the helm really are fuckers

West ham didn't set out to win 4 cups, the team they put out in the Europa league was a disgrace, had they made the slightest effort, then they would not have overrun us in the way they did, as they'd have been knackered after a Thursday night match, and we'd have had another days recovery after Juve.
