West Ham United (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

have to laugh at the thick fuckers on the West Ham forum, clown after clown calling City boring, without one mentioning that their whole tactic is to defend deep with the whole team and then to try and hit the space in behind, and have done the exact same things for tears with little or no success

It's one of the most tiresome criticism's of City and one of my stock phrases is that it's not City that are boring, it's the opposition.

Media are currently raving about Brighton and Spurs. Heard Chris Sutton on the radio on the way home from the game yesterday call Spurs the most exciting team in the League. Spurs don't face the kind of defences we do week in week out.

We push a lot of players high up the pitch, which will always mean that teams are getting to get opportuities to break on us. It's a conundrum Pep has been trying to solve since before he joined City. I think we do a very good job of restricting opponents' chances but you cannot attack like we do without ever giving away counter attacking opportunities.

I find it quite funny all the West Ham fans rambling on about City being "boring".

They literally had 11 players in their own box several times yesterday along with constantly defending.

West Ham like many other Premier League teams have spend large amounts of money on players. Whether it's West Ham, Aston Villa, Everton (at one stage), Newcastle ect they all do the same thing, Park the bus and afraid of their lives to attack City.

That's not our problem the opposition spend millions on bang average players and managers still not being able to find ways of beating us.

We have numerous different ways of winning football matches we are equipped in every department.

Pep has turned the Premier League into a fucking farmers league. Long may it continue, We are the dogs bollocks.

Concentrate on you're own side and managerial shithouse tactics...Useless cunts.

What does farmers league actually mean?

It wasn't great, Doku lost the ball and didn't really make an effort to recover, and Kyle was just jogging back allowing Ward-Prowse to get away from him, the cross was excellent though took out both CB's.
Yes, Doku was careless. But there was sufficient time to get into shape at the back. Kyle was dozing, definitely. Allowed JWP to drift in from wide past him. The effort involved in making that contract announcement video clearly had an effect on him!

Some very important players missing yesterday.

Our squad is very talented but it's not large, our bench didn't have much in the way of game changers and even had the legend that is Scotty Carson making up the numbers. I didn't count but not sure we even had a full compliment of subs.

Hoping Oscar Bobb is going to star making an impact from the bench.

On the plus side all our new players seem to be settling in Gvardiol carries and passes the ball really well and pushes up into the opponents defensive 1/3

Kovacic is a great ball carrier and dribbler of the ball.

Doku great addition to our attack dribbling and as I learnt yesterday, looks like a goal scorer.

Nunez only on the pitch briefly but look like he fit in really well.

8-)
