West Ham United (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

As I said in my mini analysis , they've just concede enormous amount of shoots on goal.
They've been luckly with Areola , he is like first or second on the table of GK list with the most saves. Its a miracle how they didnt concede more goals ,as they facing 20.02 shoots per game ( Only Sheffield Utd is worse 22.08)
And I doubt he can keep to those levels for a whole season

it was the start of last season, do you mean the league cup game when we lost
No, I said we did drop points last year 2-2 in May (week before Villa), but not last season as we won 2-0 in August. We don’t drop points in the cup ;-)

Where would we fit him once De Bruyne is back?
KDB is getting older and picking up injuries. He’ll be 33 by the time next season arrives. Presume thats the earliest he would come with the ongoing investigation. Were going to need to look to the future even if thats difficult to contemplate!!

Actually played a Sunday league team called Macclesfield Young Farmers. The away game pitch was covered in cow pats. Just a useless piece of info for you.
Years ago, I played village cricket in cattle field. Batting, I hit the ball towards the boundary and it came to rest in a cow poo. The fielder at deep square leg fielder wouldn't touch it, by the time somebody went to pick it up we'd run 7.

Some food for thought,,,City have gone THIRTYEIGHT consecutive competitive matches allowing either 1 or no goals...that is mindbogglingly good.
Also, no one scored more than a goal in all 13 UCL matches including 8 clean sheets.
1 goal TOTAL on a gift pen over the entire 6 FA Cup ties...
Its time people recognize how dominant defensively this squad have become...we need another song to add to the Istanbul tribute to the backlne from last season...

On the plus side all our new players seem to be settling in Gvardiol carries and passes the ball really well and pushes up into the opponents defensive 1/3

Kovacic is a great ball carrier and dribbler of the ball.

Doku great addition to our attack dribbling and as I learnt yesterday, looks like a goal scorer.

Nunez only on the pitch briefly but look like he fit in really well.

8-)

Txiki and Co don't make many mistakes and Pep and his coaches are masterful at improving players.

Pep talking about Nunes in his pre-match presser was interesting because he picked out things Nunes needs to improve and he won't have just discovered those in training. City bought most of those players knowing what they would have to work on; probably not much in Kova's case but they believe that can improve players into their 30'sand I'm certainly looking for Kova to score more goals at City than he is known for.

Doku will have much to improve on, especially defensively but Pep views that as the easy bit. Doku has talents you can't teach, as I think does Nunes.

lets be honest we didnt play well yesterday and if haaland had his shooting boots on still should have won by 5 or 6 to 1, thats not being arrogant thats just watching the game, that must make the opposition nervous and thats without four of our supposedly better players.
wtf “didn’t play well” mean ? scoring 5 -6 goals = played well ? What if you park bus for 90 mins and score 5 pks ? is that classified as” played well?
