West Ham United (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Some food for thought,,,City have gone THIRTYEIGHT consecutive competitive matches allowing either 1 or no goals...that is mindbogglingly good.
Also, no one scored more than a goal in all 13 UCL matches including 8 clean sheets.
1 goal TOTAL on a gift pen over the entire 6 FA Cup ties...
Its time people recognize how dominant defensively this squad have become...we need another song to add to the Istanbul tribute to the backlne from last season...

Do we need another song? The Istanbul one is rather good.

We've started this season conceding fewer shots than any team with the next best team (Arsenal) conceding half as many again as we are, which is a big gap relatively speaking.

I think that under Pep we have been scoring record breaking numbers of goals for an English team? This season we will hopefully score plenty enough but it could be one where our defence wins the title(s).

On the plus side all our new players seem to be settling in Gvardiol carries and passes the ball really well and pushes up into the opponents defensive 1/3

Kovacic is a great ball carrier and dribbler of the ball.

Doku great addition to our attack dribbling and as I learnt yesterday, looks like a goal scorer.

Nunez only on the pitch briefly but look like he fit in really well.

8-)
All the players weve signed are great carriers of the ball it seems. Shift of tactics for sure!! While everyone else is still scrambling around trying to push a defender into midfield, weve moved on

lets be honest we didnt play well yesterday and if haaland had his shooting boots on still should have won by 5 or 6 to 1, thats not being arrogant thats just watching the game, that must make the opposition nervous and thats without four of our supposedly better players.
Each to their own. Though we were magnificent from start to finish (barring our finishing). Away from home against a strong team, should really have been 5 or 6 imo

No doubt Doku is in for a bollocking from pep. But he's going to tear fullbacks a new arsehole this season. We dropped points away at West ham last season so a difficult game,
Alveraz, walker,Eddie,Silva,Doku,Rodri and Akanji all had very good game.
Is it to early to think about maybe scoring away from home at Spuds this season?
We actually won there last season (Haaland's debut) but no doubt a tough game and an excellent win that keeps us ahead of the scousers who were praying we dropped points.

Spoil your enjoyment as well?

A facking cockney wankah…he was single-handedly trying to resurrect the ‘tactical foul’ nonsense.

Somehow he managed to miss the rugby tackle by Coufal on Doku. Madley conveniently ‘forgot’ about a retrospective booking for that one, I was shocked…
Never heard a more one sided bit of commentating in at least two weeks.

Our very best is now a high benchmark indeed. Some so called fans on the Match thread simply cannot see that we do not need to be at 100% to win games.
The same applies to our Viking. He will miss chances or not convert opportunities but to call him out like yesterday is either done by Rags or piss flappers.
