West ham Vs City Post Match Thread

Just looking at the marks out of 10 in one paper.

All our players were 6 or above except

Zabaleta 5 Mangala 4 Fernando 4 and Dzeko 5.

I personally think clichy should have been in there too but can't argue with any of them.

Morning lads. What a fantastic game of football, regardless of the result. The gap between the out-of-this-world city of our matches last year has been closed, at least for those 90 minutes!

I applauded my team off at half-time saying that if we did nothing second half I would go home happy,m however it just got better - you watch your team every week so are the better to judge whether you underperformed or whether on the day we were just a bit better in key areas.

Song had the game of his life I think in the middle, and with him alongside Noble never gave your middle two/three any time, with or without that ball.

The two up front Sakho & Valencia were niggling and narking all day long

Ref had a very poor game- particularily first half- everyone is raving about the aguero "stam" ; but i think it was 50/50- however how Kompany stayed on the pitch and didnt get second yellow a couple of times i do not know....also stone wall penalty in the 92 minute.

Anyways...motm- Silva. what an absolute beast of a player, ghosts in and out the action, sublime, ridiculous...you lucky fuckers get to see him every game

My one negative is that we gave chelsea cunst a leg-up today- plenty of points still left, keep the faith.

cheers

West Ham deserve the win they worked harder played better and SAMs game plan worked to a tee.. Kompany and song should of been sent off for 2 yellows but rather have a referee that doesn't send players of and try to keep 11 vs 11 think West Ham will finish top 8 no problem and if the players can stay fresh maybe top 6

Although we did have 70% possession and 21 shots to WHU 12 so for an away team not so bad - We have just grown to expect us to win all the time and sometimes that is impossible. They should enjoy the result and I am actually pleased that they will not have a season of fighting relegation for once as yesterday reminded me of the odd game we used to win (through application and togetherness rather than pure talent) when we were down among the dead men. No time for panic just yet!

Great atmosphere at West ham when they got excited - I'll miss that when they go to the olympic stadium as then they'll have a library like us, arsenal and the scum.
I enjoyed the match, but not the result. Worth the trip just to witness Silva's goal. As bad as some of our performance was, we still had the chances to win, and we gifted so much to west ham, it seemed unreal at times.
Moans - why drop Milner? Player of the season so far.
Dzeko had his leaden boots on - woeful while he was on
Mangala - looks as bad as MDM was at the start of last season. Very shaky.
Gave a way an absolutely comic first goal, and finished up with Clichy isolated by Sacko for the winning goal.
I also thought Joe should have saved it, but he had a good match, that apart.
Clichy was very disappointing, and Song 'owned' Fernando, who hasn't looked the same player since he came back from his injury.
Navas looks half the player he was a year ago. Cuts inside too much.
Big pluses - Silva's 2nd half, and that fantastic goal; Yaya trying; great effort to try to turn it round in the 2nd half; good subs, but, a bit late; Kompany got lucky and wasn't sent off!
Not much luck going our way at the moment, but, early days still. Maybe the reds will do us a favour today.
Let's hope the hammers can put similar effort in when Chelsea come to town - no love lost between them so, keep the faith brothers.

Pellegrini needs to wise up. I'm worried about his tactics the signs where there last year, and he's carried it into this season. The league has gone for sure as I can only see Chelsea getting better while we make the same mistakes throughout the season, tactics and selection all wrong. Looks like he's gone end of season anyway as it's in his contract to reach last 16 of champs league. Lost my faith in pellegrini now and wasn't so sure about him last season even after the double. But I support this great club not the manager COYB

This great club? Not sure about that but hope you and the rags only draw today ;)

Silva and Aguero get us out of the shit time and time again but it can't be them every week.
I dunno about you mate, but I am pretty sure we lost.

The point was "it can't be them every week" there are 8 other outfield players who just now and again might want to get us out of the shit.

Our good friend in the Middle East, Richard Keys, has been banging his jungle drums for quite a while now that things are not good behind the scenes with the players. He wont give details but he started this stance after he had Yaya in the studios couple of months ago when he gave him a birthday cake. He did suggest there was a bit of papering over the cracks going on.
Reality though is that expectations and standards are high at City, you'd expect nothing else with the money invested in the club both in players and facilities. Quite rightly fans expectations have risen, we are not the City of 10 or 20 years ago when we could just shrug our shoulders.
On a very short term basis, 5 of our next 6 games are at home and we need to win them all, then perhaps we can move on

He is annoyingly smug but, in fairness, he seems to be well-informed on such issues. Gray has mellowed a bit as well.

If there is something wrong, then it's a matter for Pellers to sort out. Mancini got slammed for this apparent dressing room strife and MP is not immune.

There is no room for second chances now. Anymore below par results [forget performances for now] and the season will be no more than a recovery operation, i.e., aim to finish second. Any more cock ups and Pellers will be on that special plane to Abu Dhabi come the international break.

I think if there is dressing room unrest it can only be about certain players attitudes to games.

We have become flat track bullies under pellegrini, I think this is as much to do with senior management unwilling to buy the right calibre of talent as it does MP putting out the same team and set up and expecting a different result...didn't someone say that was the definition of insanity...

Pellegrini can fuck off for me.

I didn't want him in the first place and he has done nothing to convince me that he's cut out for management at this level.

He's a soft touch, he's stubborn tactically and he is far too slow to react when we're up against it on the field. I don't give a shit how charming he is or much the players like him, they're taking the piss out of him at the moment as they are not putting it in.

He won the league and I will always remember him fondly for that, however, it was handed to us and he ballsed up our one chance to grasp it at Anfield with his tactical stubbornness.

His champions league efforts have been laughable and, the FA Cup tie aside, he has been outdone by Mourinho every time we've faced chelsea. They will walk the league and be competitive in the champions league because they have a great manager, we won't win the league and will do fuck all in the champions league because we have a very ordinary manager.

So last season double didn't convince you then? ok..

Not in the slightest.

We underperformed and got ourselves in to the shit but finished like a train to pull it out of the fire. Our FA Cup defeat to Wigan and champions league exit were awful.

We're no better now than when he took over. What is his stamp? What has he done to put his personal influence on this team? Fuck all. We're the same as we were under Bobby, if teams stop us down the inside and outside right channel and clog up the middle of the final third we struggle. Exactly the same as under Mancini.

He's not bought well, certainly he hasn't got value for money in the market. Navas, Negredo, Jovetic, Fernandinho, Fernando, Mangala, Caballero... nearly £140 Mil and are we better now than when he took over? I don't think so. Demi the exception, he was a great acquisition.

I never wanted him and unlike many his 'charms' do fuck all for me. I'd rather have an absolute c**t who's good at his job. Pellegrini isn't and we're already out of both the competitions we had designs on before November.

Loves bites you are absolutely spot on, this is on the thick end of £150 million. So many city are so blinkered it actually terrifies me, stupid optimism does more harm to the club than people think because it will start to make the current apathy acceptable

Rag!
Wanker, sounds more appropriate.

The wankers and rags are the fans who think this week has been acceptable.

What made it worse is that after an awful result in the CL game we needed a reaction. We had come out and make sure we bounce back from the fact we thrown 3 points away at CL.

And then we came up with the first 60 minutes vs WHU. Wow...
