What do you think is wrong?

I'm gonna post the same thing in the pelle out thread. Have a look at the league table now.
What are the odds of forecasting the current positions of Leicester, Chelsea. Newcastle, Rags, West Ham etc at the beginning of the season.
It's not just City, the Prem has gone bananas!
 
Did the bad form start/coincide with Vinnie playing for Belgium? Don't remember.

Clearly VK is an alpha male, dominant, intelligent, a leader and one hell of a player. If you get him against you as a manager, the risk is probably that the whole team turns against you. It's probably not ideal, but I hold Vinnie in a too high esteem to even be bothered. If he puts managers necks out there, it's probably a good reason behind it.
 
my own personal opinion is that we are desperately in need of a nasty bastard out on the pitch to;
a) bully and intimidate the opposition and b) to kick our own players arses when they are not putting it in - a modern day keane dare I say it

The lack of nous among our players is truly astounding - time and time again against Hull and again today I see our players kicking the ball out when an opp. player goes down with routine knocks or handing the opp the ball for a free kick while we are still getting into position

We have one of the most talented squads in the league but far too many lack drive/determination/will to win etc but as has been shown more than once this season work beats the talent when the talent wont work

Do you think the Gpc would have tolerated a first half performance like that today?
Hed have torn into his players and demanded a response and maybe have got one like he used to
Mp to me seems at times to be either too soft with his staff or just resigned to being beaten
 
We're throwing it away. You want proof Leicester top of the league. The difference beside player quality.......The manager. It's that simple.

The manager has to be in control. Unless Vinnie is the best center half in the world he is replaceable. Vinnie is either injury prone, or is deciding when he plays. If he has decided that Belgium can win the Euros next year with him as captain and that is his priority he should be sold.
 
Demichelis and kolarov are not of the required standard,its a huge problem when they both play.Pellegrini is less than inspirational and quite clearly out of ideas.
 
Joe Hart has just said on MOTD that the players need to be putting in 'at least 7 out of 10 performances every week'.

That is fucking scandalous and disgraceful.

They should be aiming for 10/10 and at the very least 9/10.

For an international footballer to come out with such an arrogant comment on television tells me all I need to know.

For a manager to allow such brazen liberty taking and such a shit attitude is enough for me to say it's time for MP to get his coat and fuck right off.
 
A tired old manager too stubborn or too clueless to change things.
Lots of injuries to our best players.
A hit and miss recruitment policy over the last 3 or 4 years - we've wasted a fucking obscene amount of cash on some pretty average players instead of using it more aggressively to force clubs to sell us the absolute top drawer ones.
No one (apart from Vinny perhaps (but even he seems a nice bloke)) who utterly refuses to give up. We need at least two complete obnoxious gobshite wankers (with ability) in the side, ones with attitudes like Terry, Bellamy, Tevez, etc who won't let shit teams like Stoke dominate. We need someone to con refs, wind up the sensitive types in the opposition and kick our own lazy soft fuckers up the arse if they're not giving everything to win.
We miss Tevez and De Jong.
But mostly it's down to the manager. Look at the squad we have, even with injuries. It shouldn't lose 4-1 to anybody nor be below Leicester in the league.

He said that? That is fucking disgraceful, I'd be fucking livid if he was only aiming for 9/10! Where's the professional pride and will to win!??? Not saying anyone can perform 100% every time, but they can sure fucking aim to try every game or they shouldn't be wearing the hallowed blue shirt.

No but when you are being totally outplayed at 2-0 down and you just sit in your dugout, it's fairly obvious there is no plan b in place for when plan a fails.

Staying seated during that shambles of a performance suggests that Pellergrini doesn't know how to fix any of our problems. And to top it off, the substitutions he made were basically like for like, which suggests that he still has unrelenting faith in plan a, despite plan a looking like utter shite since October.

I think he was speaking in terms of assessing how it turned out rather than what players set out to achieve. Spreadsheet talk - most unhelpful.
 
The problem is a real lack of philosophy. We send 11 players who on paper are better than the opposition and expect to win.

All the top teams not only have better players but at least put the same effort in as the opposition.

We usually play at a slow tempo once we happen to win the ball back. We win games because of brilliance of players and natural ability is enough a lot of the time.

When Peller's came he said he liked his teams to press, play at tempo and an attractive style of football, somewhere along the line he has forgot the first two, or he is in capable of getting the players to play that way
