What does Nedum & Sturridge have or will have in common?

Better than VK, highly doubtful.

As good as Lescott and better than our other CB options, possible.

Reasonable squad player to be used as cover for 10-12 games per season, definitely.

Potential to come better with more game time, probably good

He did OK with Sunderland and BM has improved other players hugely but doesn't seem to be interested (pretty obvious why). Selling him for a couple of million when any replacement would be costing £5-6m+ seems weird, unless BM believes Boyata, Savic & Rekik are capable of filling in the squad CB 4th choice cover (which seems likely).

Sturridge (2008-2009 Manchester City Young Player of the Season, only player ever to score in the Youth FA Cup, the FA Cup and the Premier League in the same season) was given short shrift by the then new regime of you know who.
Sturridge is a starting player at Chelsea (if based on merit alone).

OK that bird has flown.

My question is are we short-sighted with Nedum never giving him the opportunity under Hughes & Mancini regimes. IMO he can be a better CB that VK ( he has limitations which some of you are overlooking atm) or Lescott or Savic or Kolo if he is allowed to bloom.

Just imagine one got us our first defeat in our record season and the other might be the reason for our last defeat of the season.

I hope not but sometimes I just have the uncanny ability to reason that way.

I take it you meant he could be better than Vincent Kompany?

If this is possible then why does Mancini insist on playing Lescott when Onouha is better. Im starting to think Mancini doesnt know what he is doing

Sturridge wanted more i. money & ii. playing time.
Nedum?
Sturridge was main factor we lost at SB. This English Player will cost another club a pretty penny if he is being sold by Chelsea pocketing the profit.

Will Nedum be if he is being sold to QPR?

Will he be a top notch player (given time and place) at City.

Irony is that Hughes gve him short shrift.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

both gobshites who are not half as good as they think they are would be my guess

Perhaps there are other cogent reason. But it beggars my mind that we are willing to pay Bridge et al the wages but continuing pinching our graduated academy players who in my mind are at least squad players if not starting team players.

There are other reasons why we are penny pinching our academy lads. To pay for our sins for prising 'ill gotten goods' from other clubs? Thank God we dodged the bullet on Terry or Torres or Rooney (tongue in cheek of course ;) )

Seriously IMO Nedum is the real thing as Sturridge is.

Rightly or wrongly Bridge was a current international player when we bought him and did from time to time get the nod in place of Ashley Cole. Nedum the real thing? Probably in the group than the team. How much is this lad on to make others not be interested 20/ 30k a week? Surely if he's good enough then someone will take him.

People need to consider why he actually left at the time.

Money was one big factor of course, but he moved to Chelsea where he won the league. playing champions league football and won the fa cup. He was learning from two of the premier leagues top strikers in Drogba and Anelka.

At the time when he left, city were signing Adebayor, Bellamy, Tevez, Santa Cruz, and already had Benjani, Caciedo and Robinho on the books. We weren't in the Champions league and hadn't won anything for 34 years. His opportunities here would of been Carling cup at best. Probably was the correct move for him at the time. Look how well he has improved.

Sturridge would come back to us in a heartbeat. Both City and Sturridge are now totally different propositions to the ones they were when both parted company in 2009

He likes the area, and has alot of friends here and at the club. He would come at a premium though.

---------------------------- Balotelli-------------------------------

Silva-----------------------Aguero----------------------Sturridge

----------------------Yaya---------------Milner----------------------

Regarding Onouha, its not a matter of questioning his qualities as a defender. IMO hes far better than Savic and can play as RB or CB. Its a case of Mancini not having any trust in him. I back Mancinis call on any decision. He knows what hes doing.

Problem being he's stated he wants to play as centre of a front three?

How does Boyota comes into the equation?

Boyota in most minds is not ready. He is still a Mancini's project. Likewise IMO Savic is also.

Nedum on the other hand is ready!

The last 10 minutes or so when he comes on at Wigan show me that he is a quality defender. He has shown that he has quality going forward and is an asset at set pieces.
