Me and my mate was just walking home from college today and i had my mancini scarf on and hes a loyal oldham supporter home and away and he doesnt mind city.

We was just walking along peacefully minding our own business when this van pulls over and it had a united thing hanging from the mirror in the front. This guy gets out and starts shouting at me telling me City are this City are that your manager is a wanker etc and im like were on earth has this come from? and then he tries to rip my scarf off from around my neck! and when i push his hands away he pushes me in the chest saying come on then you city scum what are you going to do. All of this had come from nowhere and he pushes me a few more times and i do nothing back and then he pushes me so hard i hit this wall and then he spits at me. So i push myself of the wall and swing the hardest punch i have ever thrown and catch him clean in the jaw to which he flies back and starts to hold his face and then he gets back in the van. little yet does he know that when he was doing that to me my mate had put both his back lights through with a brick.

This guy was about mid 30's and im 17. Why would you possibly want to do something like that?

the guy must have surley been restless after the long drive down from london!!!!!!!!

That's because you're proud to be what you are and you won't let anyone else tell you it's wrong. You were born a blue, it's not a matter of choice, it's in the blood. Some people simply won't accept that though, they see something wrong with being a blue and they'll even go to the lengths of attacking you for being "different" to them.

Now, I wonder what comparison I could be making here..........

if by this you are reffering to my comments about gays then like i said yesterday if you are a born gay then it doesnt matter to me because thats who you are and that makes you happy. for them being gay is like me wearing my city shirt today. But they prancing around like they do is like me running infront of this guys van calling him a rag prick and smashing his van up
So it's ok for them to be gay, just as long as they don't act gay? Would you take the same stance to someone acting openly heterosexually in front of you by, say, holding hands with their girlfriend, or kissing her? If your reaction to that is any different than it would be for you to witness two men holding hands or kissing then, I'd suggest, that's ever so slightly homophobic.

As for my comparison between you being attacked and not accepted solely based on being a City fan and your attitude to people being homosexual then I still stand by it. You were openly displaying your city allegiancies by wearing a City scarf for all to see, how is that different from a gay person expressing themselves in a gay manner for all to see? Yet you find you being attacked for being a City fan unacceptable whilst the thought of someone acting gay near you is abhorent. Surely you can see the hypocrisy of your views?

Yes they were..........white city.........although they didnt 'wait around' for long when city arrived....if you know what i mean ;-)

They must have scarpered by the time i walked past there ....... mind you Salford's only around the corner!

depends what time you walked past there i suppose........approx 40 city arrived there a good 10 mins or so after being let out of the ground........was met by approx 70/80 MIB's, who after a bit of 'pavement dancing' and smashing bottles in front of the city lads and a few of them getting floored did an about turn running off through the retail car park.........only to return a minute later and the same thing happening again.

thats what i was told by someone who was there anyway ;-)

Why would a grown man stop his van and attack a youth just for wearing city colours? Just becuase football is involved, that shouldn't turn people back to cavemen.
He'd never get anywhere if he stopped everytime he saw someone wearing blue and wanted a go...

Personally I thought it sounded a little farfetched, but I'm not gonna' say he's lying cus he probably isn't ;) but it sounded very harsh of the bloke in the van.
