Living in Macclesfield, favourite day out around 30 minutes away. Hmm, that would be Manchester.
Well when you go all scotish romanticism, I switch off, after all glasgow and edinburgh are praftically english in mimdset since 1349 and love to play on irish affiliation that doesn't existYou fool. And yes, it’s fantastic. Especially on a wild day. Magical.

Doing Bleaklow on Sunday for the 1st time. My route starts in Glossop. Love getting out walking in and around the Peak District. We live in marple too so fairly local. The moors where I live doing a big walk tomorrow to bleaklow head to show mrs snake the crash site of the B-29 bomber which was tragically named over exposed , the views are stunning but when you get to the site it’s very somber, anyone who fancies doing the walk go from glossop and not from the top of the snake pass as the walk is absolutely amazing great views of the metropolis of M/CR.
Quarry Bank is 5 minutes from my house and I lived in the lakes for 30 years, are you stalking me ;-)Quarry Bank Mill, Styal village and woods area. It has been a favourite place for our family since the late 1960s.
Plus anywhere in the Lake District. The enjoyment I’ve had climbing and walking those mountains sometimes keeps me going now I can no longer do it.
I recommend walking and climbing to everyone who can. The Peak District has many wonderful walks.
