What is wrong with our support?

I'll be honest, these last few euro crowds have been far from what I ever imagined I would see at City. This is because until a couple of years ago, the prospect of tourist types and day trippers turning up to watch our team never entered my head.

I've used it as a stick to beat the rags with for years (well...there wasn't much else I could use was there ha) so I will happily admit, it made me cringe to see it at our ground last night. I know it is a sign of progression but hopefully not a sign of things to come. If it was like that in the league it would completely ruin attending games for me.

What I don't understand is why more regulars didn't turn up. I know it's not cheap, and yet this was against Real Madrid, a team most fans never thought they would see step out against City unless we were lucky enough to play them in a pre season friendly. I'm not having a go at people who chose not to go, I just don't understand why they wouldn't attend this particular game. I would have crawled over broken glass to get the chance to watch us play Real Madrid at home and that's coming from someone lucky enough to watch us at the
Bernabeu.

My thoughts exactly, even saw some guy on his effin iPad!!

Some of us just aren't interested in the champions league mate, i understand why fans without seasoncards want to go but give me the premier league & fa cup over Europe anytime

The club are happy if there are tourists willing to pay £50 for a ticket and spend money in the club shop

I thought it was pretty good last night but should have been better given the occasion.Full of tourests though. I was in 111 and most of the songs came from 110, so tried to keep an ear out so I could join in and try and spread them into 111. The accustics really are bad on the lower tier as the songs were often drown out by the two obsolute fookin tossers behind me thinkin they were Mancini and giving constant opinions on the game-loudly so everyone around them could hear how knowledgable they are. I really couldnt handle being stood infront of two complete toss pots all season.

I think the club should look into extending some sort of roof goin from the bottom of the second tier over the bottom so the sound travels alot better.

I am shocked if people thought that was good tonight.

Type in etihad atmosphere or man city fans atmosphere into twitter and see what other fans thought.

Now why the fcuk would i want to do that? Couldn't give a fishes tit . only know the atmosphere was pretty good and i would be the first to critisise belive me.

Best support all season

Trouble is that our 'normal' is a bit crap

I seem to have recently been sucked into the North ('Family') Stand due to mate with kides , my kids , etc...

theer seems to be 2 cultural directives at play here :

1) there's kids , so no swearing
2) I'm a proper taciturn fan... I say nothing , win or lose, and that makes me a real man........

OK
no point at sweaing in front of kids .... except that those 'policing' it aren't too consistent themselves

2) The 'taciturn' bunch contribute NOTHING to the atmos , and give NOTHING to the team they proport to love.....

Quite frankly, i sometimes feel embarearrssed by the pathetichic shows from huge parts of our ground..

there was only one moment wher we finally got it .. all round the ground (BTW designed, like the Parc des Princes , to endender maximum supporter noise)
this was a great 'We're not realy here' .. Just fot once we got it all coordinated and it shut up Madrid and gave me mega- goosebumps...

Shows what we're capable of..

let's do more of this

I am am fed up with our Passengers, who not only contribute fook all but moan at peoplle trying to get some atmosphere going

A team that includes Silva, Aguero, Yaya Toure - Check
Champions League under floodlights - Check
The opposition are Real Madrid - Check
Ronaldo the 2nd best player in the world is a former rag - Check
Must win game - Check
Support from the stands - Missing

Seriously what is wrong? It is worrying as even though there were a number of "tourists" with their camera's out tonight there wasn't as many as Liverpool, United or Arsenal and it is going to get worse as real fans are priced out and replaced by these day trippers.

The support tonight was awful, something needs to change and quickly. Is it the logistics of the ground and set up or is it our attitude?

Why can we produce a European atmosphere like we did against Hamburg with a shitter team than in a must win game against Madrid with a fantastic team? Did the £5 tickets really bring in 20,000 missing supporters who support their side or do we relish being shit with a small hope of achieving something and then revelling in being let down again?

Did you leave your hearing aid at home? Do you think the atmosphere at other grounds such as OT is better? It's not......my friend is, unfortunately, a Rag season ticket holder and he reckons our support is tons better

foreigners, birds posing like models in the stands, snaphappy camera types blocking your view, can you please show me to my seat steward etc. fuck me who are these twats?!

plus no beer and Ajax were losing after 5 seconds so we were out

it wasn't great tbf
