What is wrong with our support?

was ok - i was in usual seat in 111 mixture of usual people tourist taking pictures of everything that moved and people who seemed shocked that we were stood up/swearing/singing etc.

I wish people would stop slagging off our support. I have watched City for 46 years and it's the same now as it ever was. Some games great, some not so good. There are lots of factors involved. There were many games at Maine Road which were sensational but many more, especially in the 80s where we had 20,000 rattling around (and most of them were on the Kippax). I am in East Stand Upper with the old farts...and last night it was pretty good..not Hamburg..but very supportive. What impressed me though was the sense of unity. Our club has been under siege for weeks with a concerted campaign by our numerous enemies to remove Mancini. It was great that we stuck two fingers up to the special one (and his despicable cheating tactics) and gave Bobby Manc full support. I keep saying: Mancini is far from perfect but he's the best we have had since Mercer. We have got great fans and a brilliant club. We should pull together.

Spot On post.

Like you I sit in EL3 and the atmosphere was pretty good last night - mind you it usually is in the area where I sit.

Unforunately though I had a paper-ticket guy sat next to me last night who I sincerely hope never to see (or hear) again. Right from the KO he did nothing but moan, moan, moan. It was all about City being so bad, nothing about Real being a very good team, and the stick he gave Dzeko was unbelievable. Now I know that he didn't have one of his better games, but this guy was calling for him to be taken off from the first 5 mins or so. Even continued doing it when both Tevez & Aguero were on. To cap it all, when we scored he didn't celebrate at all - just sat there with his arm's folded as if it had ruined his night. Unbelievable.

I wonder why anyone would pay £45 just to be pissed off for a couple of hours. God knows what he must have been like during Psycho's final season.

I thought the atmosphere was just OK last night but as has been said its not unusual for us to be swalled up by nerves.

The only annoying thing for me was that a lot of the fans were more interested in having a go at Ronaldo than getting behind the team. Apart from that it was OK. The Bobby shouts were loud and regular.

I am shocked if people thought that was good tonight.

Type in etihad atmosphere or man city fans atmosphere into twitter and see what other fans thought.

They are not fans tho are they! - There just mugs who like to have a dig

Yeh. Sadly there are always a few moaning buggers but, funnily enough, last night I heard little dissent near me. Sometimes people should just sit back and enjoy the football. There needs to be a reality check from some fans as to how far we have come. For example we took over 4,000 to Madrid (if you count the many who ended up in the home end) and our support there was fantastic. Last night the Madrid support was pathetic. I think City have got a fantastic hard core support of 35,000..and that's more than most English clubs. It has always been a roller-coaster and I feel sorry for the minority who don't seem to able to enjoy the ride.

I look at it like this. I pay the same as everyone sat around me for my season ticket and its my choice (as it is everyone else's) if I want to sing or not. I personally do, but I'm not gonna start slagging people off who don't like some do in the south stand.

If people stopped moaning and just enjoyed the game in the way they choose maybe the atmosphere would increase?

Why do people on Bluemoon continually moan about City supporters who do not go every week just because they do.

This was a midweek game and cost £45. Not everyone can afford it and not everyone has the time.

If people don't buy tickets then it's up to the club to make the game more attractive either by price or other means.

If it sells out at £45 then they probably think they have got it right as they probably don't care who buys the tickets.

The Dortmund and ajax games were overpriced - thats why they didn't sell out.

If I wasn't on the cup schemes then I probably wouldn't have come to this game as i saw it as meaningless in the scheme of the CL. I've seen RM before and will probably get to see them again in a game that has a bit more significance.
