What is wrong with our support?

Seriously what is wrong? It is worrying as even though there were a number of "tourists" with their camera's out tonight there wasn't as many as Liverpool, United or Arsenal and it is going to get worse as real fans are priced out and replaced by these day trippers.

The support tonight was awful, something needs to change and quickly. Is it the logistics of the ground and set up or is it our attitude?

Why can we produce a European atmosphere like we did against Hamburg with a shitter team than in a must win game against Madrid with a fantastic team? Did the £5 tickets really bring in 20,000 missing supporters who support their side or do we relish being shit with a small hope of achieving something and then revelling in being let down again?

For god sake we are not Dortmund or Poznan, our fan base is decent and I have to stick us for us against my rag mates and don’t expect to be doing the same on bluemoon… I was working till 7 and couldn’t make game… watched on sky and it sounded decent, very vocal backing Mancini what is great to hear blues

-- Thu Nov 22, 2012 10:42 am --

I am shocked if people thought that was good tonight.

Type in etihad atmosphere or man city fans atmosphere into twitter and see what other fans thought.

Other fans who didn't go to the game???? Sorry but you're a moaning girl

To be fair people were banging on about the fantastic atmosphere v spurs. It was only good for the last 10 minutes. Problem is I think people have got used to toally wank ones now

If I could get tickets for the away games without being in the scheme, I'd not bother with the home games. Compared up a premiership game the atmosphere is awful.

Obvious factors will include no beer, being tired after a days graft, not being sat next to your usual fans that are their in the league etc

I think people see videos of overseas fans like durtmond, galatasaray, aris, etc... And think we should be like that but the fact is we will never be like that as its a cultural thing. And us English are not like that.

I didn't go last night as I am skint but I thought we sounded great.

The fact is that the atmosphere was better than usual.

IF you were there you would know that.

Apparently same on TV according to this poster so I'm not sure where WRNH is getting his info from.

I agree it only got going when the team started playing, I also heard the geezer on gmr reffering to the atmosphere and I thought he was spot on in the fact that we wait to be entertained, I think we've been spoilt and as city fans we need to remember where we've come from. I was shocked near me as to how many japs/chinese/asians were there, it is the downside of being successful that prices will rise and this will stop a lot of real fans going and day trippers coming, its a double edged sword.
Also not being able to have a beer through finishing work late/starting early always kills the atmosphere a bit and you can't even have a quick en at half time, overall I was embarrassed last night but I did like when we all sung Mancini dead loud.
