I was joking about you seemingly banning the match officials. To be honest after years of away days on Merseyside the last thing I expected was anyone there to feel any kind of shame or remorse over the coach attack. What I would expect was a media and its pathetic army of scribblers to give an honest assessment of the happenings that night along with this countries football authorities and Uefa stepping in with measures to ban Liverpool if anything similar ever happens again.

Yep. There's been 2 pretty high profile cases of team buses being attacked on the way to the ground in recent years. Us and the rags at West Ham in the last game at Upton Park. On both of those occasions the team being attacked went on to lose hugely important games. Doesn't take much of a leap to think it might have had an effect and for people to think it's worth doing again. Especially now.

Merseyside Police came under fire in the wake of the April incident. Bosses changed the route the City coach took, before publishing the details online.

Detectives said they combed hours of CCTV and mobile phone footage, but no one has been brought to justice.

The force said it is unlikely anyone will be prosecuted as the investigation is being wound down.
